Some AFC team's fans' heads exploded when Nick Saban was hired by Miami.
Waste of heads.
Riley's an unknown as an NFL head coach. Hasn't even accepted the job.
I'll keep my head in one piece, thanks..
He has his QB there. Its not considered a great job right now, but that has to be a plus for Riley.Philly has reached out to Lincoln Riley to be their new head coach. Their GM has a decent relationship with him.

However, if I am a credible HC, I stay far away from Howie. Too shrewed of a politician and Im going to take the fall for what doesn't work
I used to post at general NFL forum with tons of Eagles fans during the Reid and Kelly years. Ive heard all sorts of stories from them about how Machiavellian Roseman isThis tends to be my view of this as well. Now maybe Riley would be intrigued because of Hurts and maybe he doesn't want player personnel control and would let Roseman basically make all the choices, but it still seems like a situation that would eventually lead to chaos down the road like it did with Pederson.
Roseman is a brutal career tactician. If you believe the stories up here in Philly he's been cold blooded in his rise. Banner brought him in and he quickly rose through the ranks (stabbing people in the back on the way up the chain) eventually getting to close to Lurie. It was rumored it was Roseman who then started planting seeds in Lurie's head about how Banner was an issue pointing to some friction between Reid and Banner. He then pushed Reid out and brought in Chip Kelly. Kelly tried to seize power and got it and Roseman is said to have worked to undermine him (granted Chip didn't help himself). After Kelly got fired, Roseman had a triumphant return to the GM job, brought in Pederson. Now that the team is struggling, once again Roseman has found another scapegoat for some of his failings. So if I were a coach, I'd be weary of taking a job where the GM is so close to the owner and has a history of stabbing people in the back to save his own hide.
