Mike Bell-RB- Saints Mar. 19 - 10:59 am et

The Eagles placed a no-trade clause in Mike Bell's offer sheet, which is expected to keep the Saints from matching.

The no-trade clause precludes the Saints from matching and then shopping Bell back to the Eagles or around the league. New Orleans is also expected to balk at the $500,000 guaranteed in Philly's offer sheet. He'll be an Eagle by next Wednesday, the 24th.

That's not exactly a "poison pill", but it's kinda leaning in that direction.

yep, thats what jerry jones said he was afraid of to some degree, but i thought it might be a way we can get a restricted player or 2 to help us before the draft

The NFL needs to just make the whole poison pill thing go away. I don't know what the hell they're waiting for.

Because the NFLPA will not allow it. You would have to rigidly structure offer sheets to prevent these caveats. Restrict it to bonuses on dates, dollar amounts and time frames. Basically a form you fill out.

No way the NFLPA allows it as its not in the CBA.
