  • New offensive scheme
  • Dak now has 3 years of.experience in the league
  • Cooper is an upgrade compared to Dez (besides the redzone)
  • Zeke is just as good
  • Michael Gallup is a huge upgrade compared T. William's
  • Cobb has much more versatility than Beasley
  • Pollard has to be more of a threat than McFadden was.

This offense has the chance to be something special.

that’s not hard to surpass. This offense can be just as good as the 2014. It remain to be seen if it can be as good as the 2007 or 2006 team

Slow down a bit, it has only been one game. Don't expect to see Air Coryell against the Commanders. Their D is no joke and they are a wounded animal. Keep in mind our D didn't get much pressure on the QB. Unless by some chance Taco is activated, we're going in to this week the same as last. No Quinn and no Gregory. I'm thinking this one might be close.

If La'el's play last Monday night is any indication, then he is also an upgrade over Doug Free, but Connor Williams couldn't sniff Ronald Leary's jock strap.

I don't think most people realize how restrictive the personnel was in 2016 with regards to what plays they could run.

Dez: Unpredictable routes.
TWill: Only reliable on intermediate distance passes. He struggled to react to short, quick passes and he was definitely not a deep ball receiver.
Witten: Great in that short & short-intermediate area but limited range and not a YAC threat.
Beasley: Some redundancy with Witten in the short/intermediate area.

It was more obvious in 2017.
They started sending Dez deep more often because it's much easier to predict what he would do on a go route. It also kept him from interfering with other receivers routes where he would often run into their area bringing extra defenders with him instead of running the routes as designed.

On 3rd and long, defenses would just play the sticks and basically leave Beasley and Witten uncovered in the short area because the defenses were confident they could rally to tackle them short of the 1st down.

In 2017 once defenses realized they could easily single-cover Dez, they would just double Beasley on third and short.

I totally agree, the sky's the limit!

And I think that "new offensive scheme" doesn't truly do it justice.

I'm not really worried about the offense. I want to keep those linebackers clean and dial up the heat on the quarterback, good chance we punch our ticket to Miami if we can do that.

If the NY game is any indication of this offense.....DAL has to be one of thee bet offenses in the league.

What made those teams special? Neither won a playoff game. The 2007 team that won 13 games is one of the most disappointing in team history. Great reg season. Quick exit in playoffs.
Neither did the 2016 team win a postseason game too so what’s your point to this post. We’re comparing offenses

2016 team scored 421 points or 26.3 per game. The 5th highest scoring team in the league.

Provided the Cowboys continue to score TD's and not have the Red Zone problems of last year and kick FG's, then they can outscore the 2016 team.

But as already pointed out, it's only been one game.

Lael vs ...who with the Giants ?

... and what has Leary done since leaving after 2016? how any all-pro and pro bowls?:p

Cooper isn’t better than Dez but he’s a better fit for Dak
