There are a lot of factors at play when it comes to the offense. Bringing in Linehan is a pretty big move I think. A lot of people still aren't sold on the two tight end system, but the choice of Linehan as the Passing Game Coordinator? reinforces the idea that we're entrenched with the idea.

I don't see a ton of personnel changes from last year on offense.

I think you'll see us draft a guard or a tackle fairly early. I'm sure the team isn't completely sold on Leary, doesn't want to go into the season with Bernadeau as the starter, and wants to replace Free as soon as possible. With all those things in consideration, I think a guard is the most likely option. You can replace Free next year.

The other changes will come at WR. The question is how do you replace Miles Austin. Do you replace him with the combined contributions from Williams and Beasley? That is certainly possible, but with that being said, you have to consider the idea that they will want to bring in another receiver relatively high to replace Austin, and to potentially give them leverage against needing to resign Bryant as opposed to trading him. If we stand pat at wide receiver, I think we'll be okay for the time being.

I think the most interesting player going into the year though is definitely Gavin Escobar, who stands the most to gain with the addition of Linehan. He will be in his second year in the NFL, I'm sure he'll be working with Woicik to get bigger and stronger, and he will be featured more consistently in the offense next year.

I was really interested in the idea of getting Sproles, but we still have Dunbar, who if he can return and stay healthy will give us a dimension that Linehan can really use to our advantage.

I think the position that our offense is currently in, gives us a strong advantage in focusing the attention on repairing that defense.

The offense was 16th in the league in yards and 5th in the league in points. I think upgrading the offensive line, and having some players mature within the offense (even if it is a new offense), will pay dividends if they can all stay healthy. The offense should be demonstratively better next year. Just consider that outside of Witten, Dez is actually the most experienced receiver on our offense now. That says a lot about the ceiling on this offense.

if we don't draft donald or jernigan at 16... we need to get either martin or the two best receivers in the draft..

odell or mike would make a very nice compliment to dez.

williams and beastley as our other two would be very nice in my opinion.

Where does this 2 TE package leave Callahan's blocking packages, the one thing we improved... The 2 TE package was a joke last year.

I like this entire premise but although the offense is set it needs to improve.

We can and should be better. More carries for Murray, more creative use of Dunbar and getting Escober in the slot should make us better.

Are there any good RBs this year? Is anyone even projected to go in the first 2 rounds?

I think you are on point with the exception of the #2 WR conjecture. Terrance Williams gave us excellent production for a #2 (3rd option, actually) last season. His numbers are pretty comparable to what most teams' #3 option were.

We still need another front line guy who can step in and play the "1" if anything wrote to happen to Dez, so the thought of drafting Benjamin, Beckham, etc., makes a lot is sense.

Why has everyone given up on randle? I think he did fine in his first year when needed. And if we are using Dunbar this year we only need a 3rd back and he did a decent job.

If Escobar can step it up this year our offense should be set. Williams was the number 2 wr last year, so I have no idea where this" replacing austin" talk is coming from. If anything Beasley and Harris already replaced his crap numbers.

Randle is awful, and Williams while productive early in the year hit his rookie ceiling quickly. Rather than go into this season with Williams as a set #2 and having to resign Dez Bryant to 14+ million a year, we could shore up this position with a relatively high draft pick. Trade Dez for picks, use those picks to help the offense and defense, and use that money to help the defense.

I agree with the OP on this. New OC will be intresting to watch. My main thing is how is Romo going to be? He struggeled at times last year because he played hurt. If he comes back healthy and can stay that way then the sky is the limit. Dez will be featured and Escobar shows up on the radar. Murray was showing alot of fire at the end last year. We all really want to see him have a full season. Ask yourself, If Murray played the whole season and is not forgotten in the scheme, could he rush for 1500 yds?
Fix the DLine, 1starter from FA and 1 drafted starter still to come . Pressure on the QB0 will make the secondary better. Our D has to improve.

The offense is relatively decent shape. Austin has to be replaced, but we were without him most of the season anyways. I would not mind upgrading positions, especially at LG.

I think Randle has earned a bigger role this year. He stepped in and did an admirable job when Murray got injured. I do think they will draft or sign someone to replace Austin if for no other reason they probably won't all stay healthy.

Randle was awful?? Guess we can agree to disagree. Randle did fine, he's not gonna light the world up with the tiny bit of touches he got. He got no rhythm last year. He deserves another shot.

Trade dez?? ***?? Why??

Having a player like Dez Bryant on your team is all about opportunity costs. Tell me how well Minnesota did with Randy Moss or Detroit with Megatron.

When you end up paying a wide receiver 10% of salary cap, it undoubtedly leaves weaknesses elsewhere in your team. The most important people to pay in your offense is your qb and your linemen. The skill players should not break your bank, as they are generally fairly easily replaced. More money should also be designated for the defense.

You can trade Dez bryant probably for at least a 1st and a 3rd and spend the 14 million+ on other positions. That means you can get anywhere from 3-6 starters rather than paying Dez Bryant...

Great receiver, but it doesn't make sense to break the bank for him.

In the draft, I would look for one OL that could come in and compete for a spot at RT, RG or LG. I would consider a receiver later, say after 4th round. Possibly a QB. If not, go D the rest of the way. Maybe some combo of DE, DT, OL, S in the first 4 picks but not reaching just to fill a hole.

This offense is a Dez injury away from disaster. It's like the defense was so bad last year some of you forgot how bad our first half offense is

I believe Carlos Hyde from Ohio State was at one time projected as a top half of the 2nd round.
I would love to have him here, but defense at that point is a higher priority.
I seen a few mocks and opinions that D'anthony Thomas in the 7th round would be a good fit.
