This offense is terrible

The offense is frustrating. No question there. There always seems to be something going wrong, and it changes from game to game and even quarter to quarter.

For instance, in this game, the play calling was questionable early. Then, there were the inopportune penalties. Then, over the last two drives, Romo's passes were terribly inaccurate. So it seems to be a myriad of things.

Obviously, it's early in the season and no one expect to win them all. But, until this team shows it's better than .500, I'm not going to assume it's better than .500.

lol. They clearly scape goated rob. He had an impossible injury situation while ivy league diddnt feel like scoring points in the first half of football games. He scored a pathetic history low in points, but yeah it was all Robs fault.

I think you might be confused about what scapegoating is. They had every right to dismiss him, if they wanted to go another direction, which they did. They didn't dump last year's failure on him at all, and were very complimentary of him as a coach, the entire time. The guy doesn't get a job for life, and it's not like we didn't just get a reminder the last two weeks that takeaways don't win football games. Setting a franchise low in takeaways--injuries and all--is reasonable grounds for dismissing a coordinator.

Problem is we don't have an identity...are we a running or passing team, two/three tight ends or should we have a FB. We just haven't been consistent in what the identity of this team is. Now supposedly we want to be a hurry up offense and yet we audible ourselves out of any advantage the hurry up would offer. We don't seem to scheme to our strengths and seem to react to what the defense is doing instead of dictating the pace. It is frustrating as a fan to watch.

If they had "every right" they also had more than every right to kick Jason to the curb. Franchise low in takeaways with a crippled team is tragic, but Garrets offensive performance is some how better?

Ryan was the scapegoat. Someone had to go down after last season, and it wasnt going to be Jerrys illegitimate child.

Sad to say (I drafted him) but Murray does not look like a good feature back. Dunbar and Tanner are unreliable. I am ready for Randle to step onto the scene in a big way.

Honestly, I think it's a bit of personal problem coupled with playcalling.. The RBs in this system have shown flashes however they've proven they can't be trusted and the coaching staff has zero faith in them when the Cowboys get behind in any point of the game.. The offense has stayed the same really, defenses know what we will roughly do.. I just think this core is not working anymore.

Bingo! Who are we? What do we do? Our entire philosophy is flawed.

No use in discussing last year at this point, what was done was done. However, there is now nobody left to take the blame from Garrett. The dude has his coaching job on the line this year regardless of what Jerry says. If we dont make the playoffs there is no way Jerry can bring his boy back for another go around without getting laughed off the field by the fan base.

Look back at the offense in week two last season (that 27-7 debacle in Seattle). I've been the eternal optimist when it comes to the Cowboys, so I'm still not ready to panic. Win at home against the Rams next week, get to 2-1, and let's not panic eight quarters into the season.

The offense is not fluid. It doesn't just move up and down the field with ease. It may move 40 yards, only to lose 3 yards on a stupid sweep, or a penalty. Maybe a drop, or a meaningless sack. Then 3 drives later, we'll move the ball with ease down the field. Followed by the next drive, which will stall for some other reason. This has been the theme since Garrett came to town.

^ What he said.

I could totally see them passing the buck to Callaha and acting like Ginger could be new and different.

lol How do you know? WE DO NOT RUN THE BALL! If we put Dunbar in you'll be saying the same thing about him.

They also had every right to kick Jason to the curb, I agree.

What changed? Out with Garrett and out with Callahan. They are both clowns.

Whats the constant? Romo and Jerry Jones...

The years when Romo was a good QB were wasted because Jerry gave big contracts to over the hill players and now that Romo looks like he's over the hill and Jerry gives him a 6 year deal...

Murray got 25 yards on 12 carries today. He did not make plays. He peaked his rookie year.
