This offense should work

If the GM/Owner and President cant do something its admitting mistake and letting go of "his" experiments. Thats why Garrett is still here and thats why Dak will be here a loooong time.

Heck even Matt Johnson and Chaz Green carved out multiple years of pay checks because they were the next best Thing since sliced bread.

Be prepared for more of that flat lame Offense for years to come.

haha I don't know **** huh? Says the guy defending.. Wait for it.. Jason Garrett hahahaha.
You must not be too good a reader. Instead of offering perspective, you have to make **** up. After the game I never once defended JG, in fact I was pretty critical on his game management. Specifically at the end.
Try reading.

5 times in 9 games, less than 10 points.

Pay attention.
Go away. You guys can't even be realistic with this last garbage game and critique it for what it is. You have to lump in last season.
Brilliant.

You look like a brain-dead fool right now.

LOL
Great contribution! You can't even stay focused for one post without insults. Like I said- go away, you're annoying.

If you're keeping score, that makes 5 times in the last 9 games that Dallas has failed to score 10 points. A new definition of ugly in Cowboys history.

A lot of folks are blaming Garrett and Linehan. Those like me quickly blame Dak. Others think it's the receivers, Witten's age, the lack of protection, predictability, etc. The answer is all of the above, sort of.

The real culprit here is evaluation. That, and diagnosing what the offense needs.

This offense should work. I like the idea of being one of the lone power running teams in the NFL. That team that can take advantage of small linebackers and defenses built to stop the high-powered offenses of today.

You simply can't run this offense without a top-tier quarterback. The organization - Jerry, Stephen, Garrett, Linehan, and maybe McClay - somehow refuse to understand this. They think if they build a passing offense with what Dak wants, a la Mississippi State, and use it to complement this superstar running game, it'll all fall in place. Just like 2016 all over again.

But the NFL adjusted. Dak is what he is. A 4th-round pick with very limited arm talent. That'll never change, so for the rest of his time here, he'll see 8-man fronts selling out against that run game, daring him to beat them. He can't, and they know it.

Shame on the powers that be to not recognize this. If other teams can diagnose this, why can't Dallas? How many single-digit scores and sub-200-yard passing games of evidence do they need to see? It's painfully obvious, even to a couch coach like me. (Apologies to CouchCoach.)

Dak's eyes were silver dollars yesterday. As Teddy KGB would say, "check, check, check, check!" If it wasn't for some late game connections with Cole Beasley.....that 170 yards would have been under 100.

People say it's just one game, but it isn't. It's 9 games now. This season looks to be headed to 4 or 5 wins. Did you see Jacksonville's defense yesterday? They might hold Dallas to 1 yard.

Garrett's days have to be numbered now. So are Linehan's, and so are Dak's. The disgust on Jerry and Stephen's faces yesterday was telling, although they should be looking at themselves. They went all-in on this Dak experiment, too. Jerry didn't talk after the game yesterday, which I thought was scientifically impossible.

I'll ask you to turn your eyes northward. There's a young man named Lincoln Riley who is getting a LOT of NFL attention these days. Jerry will need to backup the Brinks truck, but I know he notices. Riley runs a power run game with a dynamic passing offense. Sound like something Zeke could do.

But even that will require the right QB.

This franchise is, once again, in football purgatory.

Your post is accurate in just about everything..the one thing I'll disagree w you on, is that the offensive staff is a bigger issue than the qb...at the end of the day, they all likely need to be replaced..so it's splitting hairs

If you want to know what this power running game with a dynamic passing game that is a threat looks like, just look at the Saints. That's what we're supposed to be and would have been in 2016 if Romo was qbing but everyone (not me) jumped on the Dak train.

You're the interloper here.

I wrote the OP, buddy boy. Ignore it if you emotionally can't handle it.
Umm, you quoted me genius. I shouldn't have to put tools on ignore. I guess if all you're going to do is instigate I might have to.
There ya go! You win the internets!

Do you even know what an interloper is?

Running teams have to be able to run the ball. This team is built for the running game and the QB can even help with running the ball. Until Zeke and the oline can do something they will struggle.

Teams aren’t just sitting 8 guys in the box either like fans like to say. Running teams have always been able to run the ball. It didn’t matter if there was 7 or 8 guys near the LOS. Go back to pounding the ball and play action passing.

Sounds like a good idea but it would require Jerry taking his hand out of Garretts butt. Apparently theres something in there Jerry really likes.

Ah, yes, the last game. Nice catch, Catch. I corrected it. (And that was against Philly's 3rd stringers.)
5 in 9 games is almost surreal.
Just for perspective...same basic offense, you'd have to go back an incredible 50 games to get just one outing like that with TR.
Old news though.

It's one game. Last year doesn't have any relevance to this season unless you're looking for a negative spin. There's plenty of things to critique without making **** up.
Last year has a ton of relevance when the coaching staff is the same and the offense looks worse.

Not to mention the fact that Dak has thrown for over 250 yards once in his last 12 games.

The offense won't work if Dak can't even TRY to throw the ball down the field...one attempt of more than 18 yards, and it was the horrible pass to Jarwin.

2nd and 17 and the Panthers had 8 men in the box. The Cowboys ran the ball. That's on the QB...though going in a 2 TE set is dumb there.

That 2 TE set is even dumber considering who those TEs are.

No it shouldn't. You need a QB like Romo who can audible against a changing defense and who can no where to go with the ball. Dak is clueless and that's being kind.

Yep..

When your argument is the system will work if you have an elite QB then I think the blame isn’t placed in the right area.

An elite QB can overcome a lot of garbage but they still aren’t overcoming Garrett in the big picture.

That’s why a great QB like Romo has 2 playoff wins to his name.
