This postseason is Dak Prescott's legacy

I’ve been a more staunch defender of Dak than some of you over the years, and nothing that happens this postseason will change the reality that he’s a far better quarterback than many here will ever give him credit for. But now it’s time. The stars have aligned and this postseason will in all likelihood be what his career is ultimately remembered for.

He gets two home games against two average to bad defenses (GB and either Philly, Detroit or TB) and Dak Prescott at AT&T Stadium is the best QB in football over the last three years. Full stop. The statistics are undeniable. He has the #1 QBR and #1 adjusted YPA in home games of any QB in the league in that time. The margin of victory in games he has started at home has averaged over 2 touchdowns, the most in the league. His record at home is 20-3 in that time, and he has won 14 straight. It will be very difficult to paint a loss to an inferior team in these next two games as anything but the stage being too big, because he and this team have been so dominant at home for so long now.

Now what happens after can be debated. Do they get a third home game? Do they go on the road to SF, and how is this team and its QB judged by a loss in the conference title game in California? I don’t know but what I do know is that Dak will most likely never be remembered as anything other than a good regular season QB if we don’t win these next two.

You've laid out a strong argument for Dak Prescott's capabilities, especially highlighting his remarkable performances at home. His statistics speak for themselves and illustrate that he's not just a serviceable quarterback, but a formidable one under the right circumstances. The postseason is indeed a proving ground, and with the favorable conditions you've mentioned—the matchups and the home-field advantage—there's an expectation for Prescott to leverage this opportunity and solidify his reputation.

The next few games will be critical for not just Prescott, but the entire Cowboys organization. A deep playoff run, or even better, a Super Bowl appearance or victory, would certainly reshape any lingering doubts about Prescott's ability to perform when it matters most. It's an exciting time to be a Cowboys fan, with high stakes and the potential for legacy-defining moments just around the corner. Let's hope the team rallies behind Prescott and delivers the kind of postseason success we know they're capable of.

He’ll also be remembered for, at least for a moment, being the highest paid NFL player ever.

Well, the OP said it, full stop lol. So any discussion is superfluous anyway.

Have Dak show up in the next three games and we're talking. If it's a one and out again (highly unlikely imo) he's just another Romo. Fun to watch at times, but ultimately failed when it mattered. And in this case that will be his legacy, nothing else.

With that being said, GB at home is a very nice opener in these play offs, maybe the stars do have aligned. Dak has been very good in most games of this season and they did score a couple of wins against contenders. So yes, as a Cowboys fan there's no reason not to feel good about it all atm.

So let's see where QB1 can take us this time. If it's the promised land then for all I care keep on with this best QB babble, I'll sign it.

What if Dak plays the 3 best games of his career but Dallas loses in the NFC Championship game? Bet he still gets blamed.
On the flip side, if he throws 17 pick sixes in a first round playoff loss-he will still get a mega extension (zero doubt). But some coach would get hella fired.

I agree somewhat.......I mean he can be good, damn good and we still lose. This defense has holes........generally speaking, the best defenses win championships. So I'm not sure if we judge him on wins/losses per se as much as how well he plays. But I do agree if there was ever a time to silence critics, it's now. If he can't do it now, he never will IMO.

And if our OL, run game, or defense don't show up? It'll still be all his fault for most people on here. This is a team game at the end of the day, people forget that.

Just one game at a time. I want to exercise these demons from GB in recent years. I know it’s not the same team but just the uniforms. That’s the only thing I care about right now.

I agree I think the stars are aligning for us. I think Dak’s legacy will be determined in the next month. Personally I think he’s going to deliver. I’ve been a staunch Dak realist and realistically speaking he’s playing as good as any QB in the NFL. Arguably the best.

I think our success will depend on run defense first and foremost. Secondly can Dak figure out SF’s zone defense. If he plays the way he’s been then it looks good for us.

Because they have homefield for 2 playoff games, I fully expect the Cowboys to finally get the divisional game monkey off their backs and make it to the NFC Championship. If they don't make it that far, it's time to look at every single position and coach and how each did in the playoffs and the chokers and non-performers need to be shown the door despite their contracts. This is where it matters, not regular season stats.

Same thing was said last year going into the playoffs.

Anyways, GB is a tough match-up. J Love is the real deal. For as good as Dak was this year, Love was right there with him statistically. I'm thinking we need at least 24 out of our offense to win.

yeah getting the div and higher seed at last minute due to phil collapse, is huge !
There are 2 good teams, that might beat them at home, Rams, and Detroit. Those will be tough if they happen, otherwise SF if they play good, is the
only team that can stop Dallas from getting too the SB,
They got an easy path laid out for them by phil collapse.

With the way our defense is playing i expect more of a shootout in the 35-31 range

Our 2 biggest concern going into the playoffs should be our OLine and defense.

And to a lesser extend their ability to get stupid penalties at wrong time

Our run defense does appear better with big Hank in the lineup but it will be tested

If we can run the ball and that’s a big if and Dak has time we can beat anyone in the league

Dak is the least of my concerns but I do understand the legacy claims
This TEAM has a golden opportunity this post season
