“We believe games in the National Football League are won up front,” coach Jason Garrett said. “If you look at the best teams in the league now and for a lot of years, they are able to control the line of scrimmage on the offensive side of the ball. We did that for years here when we won championships here in the ‘90s. You need to build the infrastructure of your team.”

It really shouldn't be a huge revelation but something that is at the forefront of the personnel department (Jerry Jones) in every discussion they have about building their team.

So amazing, so if we can control the offensive line, there is no worry about the defensive line

When I see this demonstrated in actual games, I too will be giddy.

well we have seen three years of Smith demonstrating ,we have seen one year of TFred demonstrating
and some reports are calling Martin one of the best guards to come out in years .
I can see why there is no reason to believe.

I like how he's talking long term and infrastructure, it's gonna give the team a real boost to wait till November and get his new contract worked out to make that December push.

He's the first coach since Jimmy Johnson that had a long term plan.

I can't imagine Jerry taking Z. Martin with their first round pick in any draft prior to about 2010. He would have reached for a defensive prospect for sure if he wouldn't have taken Manziel outright. However, since 2010, Dallas has drafted 3 OL out of 4 first round picks.

This ain't the same old Dallas front office. Something has shifted dramatically in recent drafts. Personally, I think it is that Garrett has a vision for the kind of team he wants to put together and Jerry is listening intently to him.

We could all argue back and forth about if Garrett is a good coach or not... but what we do know is that he is certainly a terrific influence on how the front office does their business.
