This team can't evaluate talent...

Most of these players got their chance because of injuries to other players....in Burnett's case yes he was injured but so was Austin and look where he's at now. Some of you say that Burnett wanted to leave Dallas and that is a direct reflection on our coaching staff because Burnett probably knew that even healthy his playing time in Dallas would be reduced.

We have already stunted Choice's career in the NFL 38 freaking yards before this game ....38!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You gotta be kidding me.
I'de figure after seeing Barber getting rundown in the backfield over and over again the coaching staff would make that switch but noooo...it takes an injury once again. This coaching staff lacks B@%%$ and always will as long as the core coaching staff remains and that includes Garrett.

Something needs to be done in the offseason to address this both Jerry and JG are horrible at evaluating talent and if we are to compete with upper echelon teams we need to bring some new personnel to evaluate talent because the Cowboys evaluating staff is stinking up the place.

The ole cliche of "Putting the best players on the field" is getting kinda old in Dallas especially when our own players KNOW who should be out on the field and who should be on the bench, it kinda makes the coaching staff look real real STUPID.

Other teams don't have problems sitting aging veterans in favor of savy rookies who turn out to be great players, but here in Dallas it's like pulling teeth. Who wants to bet that once Barber gets healthy we will see him take back the starting position at RB if he does then I don't care how many games JG wins I wouldn't want him as the Cowboys HC because if he does bring Barber back all he cares about is hurting players feelings then that's not the kinda coach we need here in Dallas.

I can't even believe Colombo hasn't been replaced yet, seeing him get bullrushed this past Sunday over and over again is down right pathetic. He should of been benched at halftime. What do we go to lose??? It's like having a dam rookie out there with that guy and Davis is no better.

Wade did this to himself by being stubborn and kept playing this aging veterans over our younger players and now it's costing us...

Being successful in the draft means having our DRAFTEES produce in the first 1 to 3 years and so far the only reason we are seeing this (except maybe for Jenkins and Dez) is because our coaching staff is pretty much being forced to play some of these rookies and they are like..."well what do you know this kid can play" I mean I thought you guys atleast evaluate these guys talent wise that is why you drafted them right???

Well howbout giving them a chance.....Here we have the guys who are the hungriest who aren't making the millions like Davis and Barber but who just want that opportunity to show the staff and fans what they can do...this is just disgusting to watch. One good thing came out of this horrible season for once the Cowboys might be forced to play more rookies than any other season and that is a good thing.

wow this is a 5 star thread.

i've been saying for years, the only reason guys get to shine on this team is if there is an injury to the big money guys.

i dont think its player evaluation, as much as Jerry being in the coaches ear telling them to play the players he pays. you know in order to cover his back.

The team found two of it's best players (Romo and Miles) as UDFA's. They must be doing something right.

Wait.....didn't we select those players because of their "talent"?

part of being successful at evaluating talent is being consistent....this organization isn't doing that...

Oh..gotcha...i could have sworn you said they "couldn't".....but what you really meant is "they can, but don't always evaluate correctly....like the other NFL teams do".

Right?

But they are on the team. How can the team be bad at evaluating talent when the players you mentioned are on the field?

Lmao....quickest one star rating ever. This thread never had a chance.

Good point. I think I've read that somewhere before....

Parcells wasn't part of the Cowboys?
He was when they got Romo and Austin. So was Sean Payton, which from what i've read was a major factor in getting Romo here.

Sean Payton found Romo. Not Parcells.

Yah where is he now????

The Dolphins. How is that relevant? He/Payton was a cowboy when he brought in Tony and Miles.

Burnett has one good game and the rue-train arrives at the station.
