The Cowboys of the 70’s always found incredible ways to win

These Cowboys seem to always find incredible ways to lose

The ways this team has lost games in the current and past few years is really incredible

sad but true.....

They always find clever ways of losing, huh?

You're right, always is too strong of a word, but some of the losses they've had have been jaw dropping wouldn't you say?

Romos fumbled snap @ Seattle
NYG in the playoffs
No show against the Rams (Dude!)
Pittsburgh melt down
Two back to back 70+ yard runs to seal tonights loss

they need to reverse this resume

I agree. Those two runs at the end were Dorsett type of plays. Or even Duane Thomas plays. Heck they were emmitt Smith plays.

Just very disheartening.

they really are.

As cowboys fans we are all spoiled with the rich tradition and the championships, but if your around my age, 32, you have seen way more losing in big moments than winning in big moments.

I didnt get to see roger, dorsett, white etc.. play the game.

I fell in love with this team as a kid watching nfl films highlights thinking Dallas was a loveable loser and underdog and really respecting Tom Landry.

So from about 84 on, I really have seen more bad times than good. If your a fan of the cleveland browns you find that laughable because of the success of the 90s.

But still, especially recently these have been some of the most gut wrenching and knockout punch losses a fan of any team could ever take. At some point it has to start coming back our way, I hope.

We have seen this team rewrite the record book of this franchise in a negative fashion and as it continues the losses get worse and worse.

See that what makes this so hard for those of us in our 40s. We grew up with Roger and them and they found ways to win. It seemed a given that they would win each week and when they didn't, something just wasn't right with the World.

Now we are seeing just the opposite. While I am grateful for the wins, I almost feel like we have accomplished nothing in the last two years.

I'm 43 and remember being a fan since around 1970. I was spoiled rotten with 20 freaking years of playoffs and constant come backs by Captain comeback, Staubach. I never thought they were out of a game because they came back so often.

This team is the exact opposite, I'm so nervous leading up to a game because I don't know whether I'm going to see us play great or if they're going to kick me in the balls.

If there was any doubt, tonight proves I need to go out and buy a cup.

Let's change the name of this team to the "Dallas Ow, my balls!"

Me too, do you think the teams we grew up watching warped our sense of reality? They won so often that it became expected. I wonder if other fans can appreciate the game more than spoiled old foggies liike me.

you're right yimyammer... however I would like to add that the "ridiculous fashion" losses have not been limited to recent years ..

they are sort of the fabric of the Dallas Cowboys even in good years as well ... (Lett on TG, Boniol off the center of the upright vs Lions in 94?, Novacek stopped at the half-inch line vs Browns, the game at RFK vs Skins where Aikman fumbled the game away and Emmitt didn't bat the ball out of bounds).

Ah memories.....I guess the thing about the teams that had the losses you mentioned is they ultimately overcame them and won when it really mattered, funny how that can erase the pain of those crazy losses

<<BTW, I was at the game where Leon Lett pulled his fiasco, it was a fun game to be at--until Lett....>>

This team does not seem to have the championship caliber qualities demonstrated by all those great teams of the past. This team is an illustration of the times of today -- prima donna players who want the biggest paychecks for the least amount of effort and expect a trophy to be given to them.

The character of this team needs to return to the blue collar team oriented players like Bob Lilly, Randy White, etc...

Cut the older players, and the prima donna players, and go get real blue collar players for the team. Start with the offensive line.
