This team is reminding me of the early 90's teams

I remember watching game in the early 90's where we would give up some big plays early(teams thought they had something, had us figured out or on the ropees) and then we make adjustments or get down right mean and nasty and then TROUNCE on teams....

I saw that today....

I saw Galloway make those catches... then they scored.... I looked to my father and said, "that TD is the only one they are getting today", "the rest will be field goals"

NOW.... if that was with any other QB... I would have thought we would have been in trouble(like in the last 10 years).... but Romo made me think differently...

Ladies and Gentlemen.... WE ARE A HIGH POWERED OFFENSE AGAIN!

Every time we get the ball, I'm dissapointed if we dont get 7. We have so many weapons to compensate for our average O-Line, all we needed was solid QB play. BP knew exactly what he had in this team - he just didn't know what he had in his QB. Insert Romo and suddenly we're the best team in the NFC per ever ESPN analyst.

Parcells finally has his kind of QB and defense and look what's happening now! Thanks Bledsoe for the loses earlier in the season or the Boys' could be 9-2!

I'm starting to wonder if our oline was just average in the first place. Maybe it was that bum QB that made them look average...

While I agree that Romo is BP's creation(Payton found him) BUT... I would not call Romo "BP's kind of QB"............ Romo is just different.... I dont know that I have seen his like before

These receivers are moving bullseye's and Romo is hitting them... in the pocket, on the run... whatever.... he is getting it done.... we are not conservative by any means... I love it

We get stuffed trying to run the ball to much for me to think it was all Bledslow's fault back then. But one thing I have noticed is the penalities suddenly got greatly reduced.

What for one game? All running games have bad days.... it WAS mostly Bledsoe's fault... hey I wanted the guy to ride off into sunset with a Dallas SB trophy... it didnt happen... it wasnt gonna....

I know Dallas has had a pretty good rushing attack all year, but I think with the threat of Romo and the passing game that we are about to see a rushing attack that thrills when teams try to take the passing game away a bit.

One would think that eventually teams are going to choose the slower death and let the running game run wild.

Oh well, it does not matter pick your poison time.

I think the penalties (especially the holding calls) were directly a result of Drew's short comings. Our 'O' line play is OK for now but all we have to do is get a nice right tackle, a more aggressive attitude overall for the entire 'O' line and we are in business for real.

Our running game is not where the 90's team was and I still think, if I can nit pick a little, I think we are a game breaking running back away from being a true power house. We don't have a back like Emmitt obviously and the funny thing is if Barber had a tad more speed he would be all we needed at the RB position. The offense seems more potent when he is in the game. MB is a threat out on pass routes as well as running the ball. To use him only on 3rd down is a waste of his versatility. Emmitt wasn't the fastest back either but he could kill you running as well as catching out of the back field. JJ hits the holes in a flash but he seems more like a straight ahead runner now more than his first year with us. Together, both backs allow us to have a running game that is respectable but not on par with what Emmitt was in the 90's.

Our WR's are on par with the 90's teams right now.

Our defense is probably on par if not potentially better than the 90's team.

Nitpicking is ok... LOL

I guess I just dont see what you see in the rushing attack... we do the same thing as we did with Emmitt except that we use 2 guys... over 100 yards again today... 123 to be exact and the 18 from Lou

I understand the overall point you were trying to make, but I can't compare this team with the team of the 90s.

We don't have the back we did in Emmitt. If we had a LT, then I'd say you're almost there with the comparison.

But Romo is reminding me of a young Joe Montana with his coolness, ability to buy time with his feet and his deadly accuracy.

You mean when we were leading the league (or close to it) in rushing?

Yeah I thought about that as well. The bottom line is results. If it takes two backs or one, I guess it really doesn't matter.

Good post.

It wasnt a comparison player for player... it was a comparison on AS A COMPLETE TEAM UNIT... teams get something BIG and then WE CRUSH them
