I know you guys don't want to hear this after the debacle last night, but this team isn't that far away, and simply isn't performing up to expectations. Why do I say that, and why are we losing.

First, lets inventory our assets:

1. We have an above average (almost dominant defense). It's better than average at all 3 levels. It's better than we have had in about 10 years. It's good enough to win.

What's missing? You might argue at least one stud safety to put it over the top. You could also say another pass rusher on the DL. Gregory and Irving could be those players, but they can't stay on the field. Taco is on a milk carton missing somewhere.

You get Taco Charlton instead of a Zac Martin type of player when you draft for need instead of best player available, especially in the first round.

Also, Marinelli needs to go. Further what happened last night with our tight DB coverage? It's like we decided to go back to the old ways and throw away what was working.

The Verdict: This defense already has enough playmakers to be dominant, its coaching that's killing this team.

What I would do: Move on from Lee NOW as a player, make him a Cowboys coach and play the young guys. Lee is mostly a liability at this point as a player.

Offensive Inventory:

We have a stud RB, stud WR in Cooper, possession WR in Beas, an up and comer in Gallup. Receivers aren't the problem. Getting them the ball is the problem.

The OL still has more pedigree than most. Even without Fred Beard we have Martin, Looney who looks like a keeper. The other three are under performing, as a group and based on pedigree, draft position and or contract. We need to wait and see how the OL change affects these guys, but the OL played better last night.

The weak link right now on offense is Dak. Is he the answer or the reason for the collapse? Perhaps both. But I really believe they are coaching him into the trash can.

In spite of what some say here, Dak has the physical tools to be great. It's his decision making that is killing this team, and he had more of it when he came here than he does now.

They need to change O/C and QB coaches, and stop being so predictable in play calling. There are only a couple of QBs in the ENTIRE league that could have success if the defense knew exactly what was coming.

Everyone wants to put this all on Garrett, because he is at the top. But quite honestly, I don't think Garret has any real input into play calling and decision making in play calling (which is absurd), but that's the way it was set up.

I would move on from Linehan right now and see what we have in the last 8 games with a different play caller. I would probably have Garrett call his own plays and see how it goes and decide his fate at the end of the year. But I would can Linehan NOW.

I would also move on from Marinelli at the end of the year. If someone wanted to can Marinelli now and see what Richard has right now, I wouldn't argue against that either.

The bottom line is this team has top 10 talent right now and we are not playing like it.

Isn't far away from what...the moving van?

This team does not have Top 10 talent.

Stop. Please stop.

Stop with the Dak has the tools to be great. He is what he is. Thinking a new coach will turn him into a great QB is the same kind of stupid logic people have used with Garrett over the years where time and better roster will make him a great coach.

This team has a mediocre to poor coaching staff and a middling NFL roster. And no #1 pick to start putting pieces in place to make it better. Anytime you need an entire new coaching staff AND a franchise QB, you aren't close to anything.

And for the love of freaking god, please tell me you aren't advocating for bringing Garrett back with two new coordinators.

It's too late for all of that, every year it's the same thing, we are all most there, we are rebuilding, blah blah
