Trying to get over the hump to contend for a SB. We are about to let one of our best offensive players and one of our best defensive players walk. If your not going to use that money somewhere else, who cares about them being overpaid. It’s sooooo frustrating.

No, the weak division causes people (management included) to think they are better than they are, and it's been going on for a while.

This is a 4-6 win team if they swapped spots with Seattle.

West teams are battle tested come playoff time.

We pad stats with 50 burgers against bad teams that have quit.

If JJ would have the same approach with his coaching staff, immediately after the season.......we would be on to something. JJ has lost it. When we see Cedric Wilson as the starting WR, Noah Brown still on the team, and no one to replace DLawrence, and Anthony Brown continuing as a starting CB.......we may start seeing NFC East Champ Banners hanging in the rafters. The purge has begun......TPollard get your money.

The realisation or epiphany is that this team couldnt beat 6th seed at home, how on earth were they going to win it all (playing away from the Star). Also a realisation that we couldnt bring back the band without McCartney turning into Wings in 2023.

We are taking the financial hit in 2022 to come back stronger in 2023.....and not waste the Micah/Diggs years. It's a rational acceptance that at some point we'll have to correct the book (rather than kick the can)....it may be painful in 2022, but we'll still have a playoff shot in a weak division and be stronger for it moving forward.

That's why last year was our best shot to get past the WC round and we failed at that

Excellent post.

It truly was a missed opportunity. Those bunch of things that had been the problem in the past weren't there and things lined up to allow their best run.

A HUGE choke from the entire organization.

Be shocked if all those winning variables line up so favorably again any time soon.

along with GB, KC and Buffalo

Well, they made it a little bit farther than falling on their face day 1 (and no one moreso than Philly), but technically yeah. Troy Aikman’s point was apt: if you go to the playoffs and dont do anything there, how is that any better than Detroit or Jacksonville or Houston?

GB was knocked out in their 1st game. They had the bye as #1 seed. Troy Aikman said they are no different that Det or Jacksonville? BS, I guess you could say that about any team who fails to reach the SB. Fact is 1 team wins it all and the rest fail.

There’s something to build upon though if you push in the playoffs. I don’t think SF looks at their season and an abject failure. GB is a more complicated one though. Losing in the second round is always better than losing in the first round, but in the end their QB is running out of time and they went 1-and-done again. I don’t think it’s black and white, there are levels of context to everything

Did we cut Parsons ?

Everyone advocating blowing it up needs to realize we won't do that.

These are half measures, and probably not good ones at that.

If we can put the money to use, it's a different story. Doing things like franchising Schultz tells me we will piss it away on "our guys." Minus Kearse I'm not big on any of them. I like Gregory, but he's already on the wrong side of 30.

As much as we pout about the playoffs we weren't that far off. A few key players and better coaching and we'd make a legitimate run, not the ****** crap they've been selling.

Unfortunately this FO doesn't have the balls or knowledge to add those pieces. They want a more sustainable model and time has proven that model sustains only mediocrity.

They lost in their 1 and only playoff game and are now over 29 mill over the cap. It seems it is only black and white with the Cowboys everyone else gets some excuse. Fact is Dallas is no different than 31 other teams in the league.
