This was all so predictable because Jerry is involved

I do have to chuckle at all the posters now trying to say that Micah wasn't that good or didn't deserve that much money or that the team is better off without him because he's a podcasting cancer, etc. It's an utterly predictable response from a group of people that struggles to admit reality here - the Cowboys are a poorly run franchise, with no real hope for a SB run in large part because of the guy we are stuck with. When you have no other option other than just live with the guy who is screwing this all up, you have to figure out ways to defend him and the Cowboys and then trash the collateral damage in his wake of bad decisions.

But make no mistake, this is all on Jerry. It all is. The 30 years of futile playoff performances. The constant soap opera that surrounds the Cowboys year after year. The flawed rosters. The "we are cap poor" cries while actually being cheap as hell. It's all his fault. Coaches have changed. Rosters have changed. Back office personnel has changed. What hasn't? Jerry and his bag of grass clippings he calls a son.

Is trading Parsons a bad decision? You can argue yes and no. Just the idea of trading away an elite player at a high premium position is crazy and just feels stupid. But.......... given where this thing headed, seems like the only option was to then dump the guy because it became obvious he didn't want to play for Jerry. But of course, the return was middling in the grand scheme of things because Jerry rarely ever wins a trade. And he backed himself into a corner on this as well, which surprise no one. Because that's what he does.

Jerry knew exactly what he was doing here. He was a prominent voice for the owners in negotiating the current CBA. He knew the rules. So when he says the agent here needed to be less sensitive, that's such a horse bleep comment. But it once again crystalizes that his own ego and arrogance were at play here and those are the two biggest reasons this franchise is becoming a joke.

Jerry knew that trying to negotiate behind the agent's back was risky. He didn't care despite knowing the rules. He also likely knew that while Parsons was engaging him when Jerry was trying to negotiate with just him, that Parsons would absolutely involve his agent at some point. Every star player would. So for Jerry to act bitter now when he claims he and Parsons seemed to have an understanding is such ridiculous blather. It's nothing but CYA for Jerry and his attempt to once again make the other guy out to be the bad guy here, when he was (and likely knows) was the bad guy. Of course, many of our fans will lap it up. Because they have no other option (or probably more accurately, don't care to think about other options).

And now, star/good players are going to be less likely to deal with Dallas in FA. Not that Dallas actually seems to want to spend money on star players in FA.

It really is sad at this point. And the fact the son seems cut from the same cloth is utterly depressing.

I would say calling the return middling is pretty optimistic lol. We probably traded Parsons for a HB and a CB. Clark may be a decent short term add, but he is basically a throw in

Bingo! We have a winner!!

Frame this quote. You nailed it.

I wonder, with Parsons gone now who will the cranky fans complain about when the defense sucks? I suppose they will all say that next year when we use those draft picks the pass rush will be way better because Jerry, the guy we are stuck with, will know what to do with those picks.

No. Parsons was not a leader. So what? Lots to good players are not the leaders of their teams. Sometimes it is someone else and that works too.

No one knows what the future will bring, but I am convinced Dallas will not use those draft picks wisely. Jerry will see them as house money and gamble them away on some high risk players.

I hate our fans.

BOTH CAN BE TRUE. You dont have to pick a side. There arent many fans that will argue that Jerry Jones is the worst GM of all-time. With that said, we can also be happy we didnt pay $47M a year to a player that didnt help us win in the postseason.

Im going to be consistent. I cant rag on Dak for all these years because of lack of playoff success but ignore Micah doing the same. $45M a season is what Patrick Mahomes is making. Im good on that

I don't think you can pay three guys at premium positions like they're the best player in the league. I heard someone on ESPN talking about how the Browns paid Garrett and the Steelers paid Watt. Yeah, because they don't have a franchise QB or a top 3 WR. I would rather have Micah than Dak, but we already signed Dak.

Micah was a excellent one trick pony.

My biggest issue is that Jerry and Stephen have successfully conditioned fans to constantly worry about the cap the cap the cap the cap.

Fans go into a tizzy every time a contract comes up because they think the cowboys can’t afford to sign people.

It’s all nonsense. The cowboys spend next to nothing in free agency and then we still have to hear about the cap the cap the cap when their own drafted players come up for extensions.

It’s BS. But it works. It gets the fans turning against players who get new contracts because they believe the players and their contracts are holding the team back when that’s not the reality at all.

They have fans around here worrying more about the salary cap than they do the product on the field.

It’s like one of the threads earlier showing the cowboys have the 2nd most cap space in the league with Micah gone.

Well no crap. The cowboys are going to stink this year and likely have a losing record. So what goods all the cap space?

Micha was not worth 47MM.

The Cowboys couldn't afford him plus dak plus ceedee

They got what they could and its time to move on

This is what I’m talking about. Pure 100% propaganda.

It’s just not true. It’s not true at all.

I mean do you realize that if the cowboys gave Micah the contract Green Bay did. The cowboys would still have like 35 mil in cap space right now?

But Jerry and Stephen told you about “pie” and you buy it.

thank god we paid lamborghini prices on a ford fusion and a dodge dart so we could let the chevy corvette go cause heaven forbid we pay for that

I figured it would happen but im genuinely shocked its happened to this degree.

What you are saying is completely skewed and misses the point- you do realize that if the cowboys had signed micha for the 47mm that the three contracts between the top 3 would be the highest percent of the cap ever with the exception of a rams team in the last decade that had a losing record.

No championship team has ever tied up that much money in 3 players....if you are too uneducated to understand that then do a bit more research dude and stop bashing the rest of us

It was not possible to keep micha at that price and compete

Like I said. Bought the propaganda hook, line, sinker.

The cap number you state is only based on AAV and not other factors. It’s a meaningless data point but you used it anyway.

Nevermind the fact that Lamb and Dak’s contracts are only so high because the FO repeatedly ***** the bed and waits to the last minute to resign guys.

Enjoy your cap space this year when the cowboys have a mediocre at best record.

Also, me pointing out that something you said isn’t true, isn’t me attacking you. Just try not to lie next time

Now do the Eagles who apparently can afford everyone?

Dak and Lamb make more than Hurts and Brown, and I dont think the Eagles also have the highest paid non-qb in the history of the sport on their roster. Obviously their GM is world better than Jerry, but my original point stands.
