Eagles better win it this year. 8 of 11 defensive starters are UFA. They don’t have much cap and have to pay Hurts a projected $44.2 million per year after next season.

It is Roseman though. I’m sure he will find a way to have Hurts cap hits around 4-5 million per year
Good info. What impresses me is how they were able to turn their 9-9 season around so quickly into SB season. Something we just haven’t been able to do.

And now despite whatever we are doing they are doing more. And have become who we are chasing . If we can’t win our division it’s very difficult winning multiple playoff games on the road.

Would we be willing to go all in on Cap mortgaging the future for a SB appearance?

They have been the best team in the conference all year with Hurts. But has there been an easier road to the Super Bowl than facing an overachieving NYG team and then a 4th string QB in the Conference Title Game???
Purdy didnt just slip on a banana peel and get hurt.

The eagles made their own luck bY beating the hail out of Purdy and putting him out of the game. Then they did the same to the next QB.

We played Purdy last week. We could have beaten Purdy up if we were good enuff, but we didn't. Purdy felt just fine after playing us.

SF was the best team in the NFL for the last month-plus of the season....and Philly just completely outclassed them. Had the better defense....and just played smart, mistake free offense. It gets kinda simple, once you ur QB stops throwing the ball to the other team.

They were the front runners all year long . Unless Hurts is injured they could have potentially gone 16-1 . They are first team to win both playoff games scoring more than 30 points and not giving 10 points in either games.

They upgraded their team in the right places this past offseason using their draft picks complementing a top 5 defense from last year and Hurts first playoff appearance .

Hurts in his 3rd season played at a MVP level. And most likely was going to win the award until Mahomey hobbled into Super Bowl on one leg. With such a strong season are the favorite to win Super Bowl.

And they could be the favorites to win our division and lead the NFC again next year . All while the Cowboys were making cost cutting Cap moves and attempting to retool after dominating our division last year which provided the Egirls the opportunity to move past us in 2023.

Now with another disappointing loss in playoffs the Cowboys are reeling again looking to make more Cap moves lessening our talent pool while making wholesale asst coaching decisions .

More unknowns moving forward for the Cowboys than the Egirls . While the Giants could be on our heels next year as they took a major step forward as well in 2022.

2023 will all be on McCarthy as he takes over play calling. Good news is if 2023 is another disappointing ending we have our new HC already in place as our DC is probably our most popular coach on staff in decades.

Will be interesting to see what moves we make in offseason regarding the Cap and key roster releases as well as priorities in Draft . Cause we are no longer the front runner in division as we are chasing the current NFC champion.
Must be nice to just hand the ball off and crush the niners.

You could see from their off-season there as long as they were healthy they were going to be in it. I’m not shocked they will win the Super Bowl as well.

The Eagles will create necessary cap space this offseason, they have two #1 picks, they are the clear favorite in both the division and conference heading into 2023. They have been one of the most dominant NFC teams over the last 20 years while we have been a bottom feeder when you look at playoff success.

We can't hold their jocks at this point.

And expecting the Cowboys and the Jones goobers to be motivated by what Philly did this year is folly. Pure folly. They will do what they always do. Bargain freaking shop in FA and tell everyone the draft will fix their problems.

That's how you always end up with a decent team but never a great one. Howie Roseman is the best GM in football (along with Lynch in San Fran) and he runs circles around the oil tycoon trying to be a NFL GM.

Here’s the thing with them, they didn’t go 9-9 by just building in the draft and a few rentals. They splurged!

Keep in mind they began the offseason with ONLY $23 million in cap space.

- Traded for an elite WR in AJ Brown
- Signed Hassan Reddick who has been as good as ANY pass rusher this season
- Signed CB James Bradberry who is a legit #1 corner, to be their #2 corner.
- Signed LB Kyzir White. This was / is an absolute steal. 110 tackles and is a game changer. I wanted desperately for Dallas to sign him. He had 110 tackles and TJ Edwards had 99.

So you added an elite #1 that moonshot Devonta Smith to elite. Shut down corner next to an already all pro. Elite tackling machine in the middle. Elite pass rusher as well.

That pretty much solidifies their defense and receivers. They already had an elite TE and the best OL in the league.

This doesn’t even include Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean.

Couldn’t agree more they loaded the trenches with real beef but they also traded a quarterback and got a lot of pics that they used smartly. They’re gonna run our division for a few years. Get ready for it

They were able to splurge because they had the basis of a good team already. Their O-line needed no tinkering (every lineman, all 9 of them, were drafted by the team). They had a top-5 TE. They already had the foundation of their D line set; all they did was fill in the gap and fortified the middle late in the season with cheap vet pick ups--something we could have done but didn't. They filled that hole at LB and CB. These are things that good GM's do.

But there were still posters here that believed Howie Roseman is a bad GM, that De'Vonta Smith was a barely average #2, and someone actually tried to tell me that Steele was playing better at RT than Lane Johnson. This is the level of idiocy that is on these boards with some people.

The single best thing to happen for Cowboys fans is the Eagles going to the SB and I hope they blow the Chiefs out. Nothing is going to chew on Mr. Camera more than seeing shots of Lurie, not a Booger bud like Snyder, at that game. He won't have to suffer through daily interviews because Lurie is not the pathetic celebrity seeker Booger is.

The next two things in our favor are the Giants and Commanders improving. A stutter step here or there and the Cowboys could find themselves in the cellar of the East in 23.

I would like to have seen them play the 49ers without hobbled quarterbacks. They were attempting to come from behind with running plays only, which is basically impossible. I know them's the breaks in the NFL, but once the 49ers had no more QBs, just a hurt one who can hand the ball off and throw very short passes, it was basically over.

But you're right. The Eagles have been running their team very smartly, becoming better and championship level. It's sickening because their battery-throwing fans don't deserve that.

They will be just fine.

One, they have some contracts they can restructure to create space. And Hurts will likely end up with a deal similar to Dak where the front year cap hits are fairly low, stacking cap hits into the back years.

They know what they are doing. We do not.

I feel like it is their year.

They loaded up on talent and all of the stars lined up perfectly.

Must win week 18 game? Davis Webb starts and you get the bye.

First round playoff? 6 seed at home

Second round of playoffs? 49ers go down to their 4th string QB and then literally have nobody to throw a pass for three quarters.

Super Bowl? Mahomes has a high ankle sprain and can barely move.

Outside of Derek Barnett, they have 0 players on IR who play. It’s the most healthy I have ever seen a team after playing 20 games. They have all 22 starters playing.

They also got to play a lot of teams before they got hot. Detroit, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, Green Bay.

At the end of the day, they did what they needed to do. No hate for them handling business.
Avoiding major injuries is the key to success in the playoffs. They've had guys hurt during the year, like Goedert, Gardner Johnson, Lane Johnson, Hurts etc. but none were season ending. Barnett is a good player but he is prone to stupid mistake so losing him may have actually helped them. In any case they ae healthy now which is a big help. The Cowboys losing Lewis and Brown - and Steele costs them a chance to win the division.

Eagles are a destined team this year. I have never seen a more fortunate team, where everything they did worked out great for them....where they played all the tough teams at home.....where everyone is healthy at the most opportune time....where they only had to play a not very good Giants team and a 4th string QB to get to the Super Bowl (by the way, QBs get hit just like Purdy did on Sunday and are never out for the rest of the game). Yes, they are a very good team because every trade and acquisition has worked out great for them. Basically their good fortune has been ridiculous, something I haven't seen in the 50 years I have watched the NFL. And I don't expect this good fortune to be absent on the 12th. Expect more of it, like Mahomes to come down injured during the game, maybe stepping on his own linemen's foot during the game. Eagles will get their 2nd SB victory. Bank on it!

Good teams make their own destiny (success). Sports medicine, analytics, drafting, free agency, team-building, camaraderie and overall support create a winning environment.

We were frauds but the Eagles were just less fraudulent. They took care of business but never had an impressive win all season maybe Vikings at home. Easiest playoff path to the Super Bowl ever Daniel Jones and 49ers lose QB on first drive are you kidding? They'll lose to the Chiefs barring injury to Mahomes or some fluke.
