I am officially out of the Cowboys Cult. This Giants game was my Tipping Point, after years of frustration and disappointment that we can all relate to. It’s not that they lost the game, it’s HOW they lost the game.

1st – Javonte Williams has never had an unsportsmanlike penalty in the NFL, until last night, which was a taunting flag while running into the endzone…at a time when the Cowboys were losing. Who does that? This doesn’t even seem to be in his character, he’s not a showboat kind of a guy. But he is now, as a Cowboys player. The Cowboys culture changes people, and often not for the better.

2nd – I see so little camaraderie on this team. Sure, in interviews, they say all the right things…they talk like they are a family. But on the field, I simply don’t see it. It’s all the little stuff. I rarely see Cowboys defenders helping each other up after a play is over. Why? Your teammate is on the ground, and you’re right there standing right next to them, and instead of sticking out your hand to help them up, you just turn and walk away. Hec, I rarely even see them congratulating each other on a good tackle or anything.

Caleb Downs was supposed to be a new defacto leader on this defense. I didn’t see him doing a lot of communicating on the field, in the huddle, or at the LOS. Nor did I see him make any attempt to help up his peers once the play was over. Yes, he’s a rookie, so he deserves some grace, but things like this rarely improve within the Cowboys. Most times, things get worse. The culture has a general negative affect on the players...

...because the Cowboys culture is simply toxic. I don’t see joy on the faces of the players, nor excitement. Something is genuinely off about this team (and it’s been this way for years). Hec, this is such an easy team and organization to root AGAINST. Even if this team were to go to the Superbowl and win, I don’t think I’d be all that excited. Having JJ hold up the Lombardi trophy, that’s not something I really want to see. That wouldn’t bring ME joy.

So, I’m done, I’m out. The Cowboys don’t deserve any more of my mind space, time or energy. It’s not an organization I can root for, and when I can’t root for the players either, then it’s time to move on. Hec, at this point, I’d rather see Skateboo have a great year than Javonte, if I’m being honest. Watching Skat run, I can actually SEE how much he loves and appreciates football.

Ultimately, I want to (and will) spend my Sundays investing in something other than football. My family, my friends, those in need, local teachers, firefighters, police officers, librarians…they all deserve more of my energy than the overwrought NFL, and certainly deserve it more than the Cowboys.

I will treat the NFL like I do baseball and basketball: Occasionally, I’ll watch some good matchups for the sheer entertainment, and the playoff games are typically interesting, but I’m no longer watching 8+ hours of football on Sundays. 20 minutes of highlights will suffice on Sunday night or on Monday. And at some point, I won't even care to see the highlights from week to week. Spending 1/7 of my life during football season dedicated to watching the NFL (and rooting for the toxic Cowboys) has run its course. And I’m not switching to a new team (nope, not jumping into a new cult), I’ll root for specific players to do well. And since I live in the Baltimore/DC area, I can easily root for Lamar and Jayden.

When you’re on your deathbed, you’re not going to look back at the number of times the Cowboys won the Super Bowl and be at peace.

I became somewhat of a casual fan after the GB playoff loss then the all in comment only to do nothing, I admit I got a little sucked back in for this season but thankfully they shot that down real quick in game 1.
If I have things to do on Sunday’s they will be done instead of planing around watching this soft horrible origination waste my time.

Honestly, there's only so much painful embarrassment a fan can take. After this many years with the same problems, the term "fair weather fan" is no longer accurate in describing people that walk away, they've assessed that there is no hope and emotional investment in this team is pointless... now, I'll give CP a little more time to turn it around, but this wasn't a good sign,,, and the fact that the OL continues to be hot garbage doesn't bode well at all.

The Browns sell out their home games. Apparently there isn’t “only so much painful embarrassment a fan can take”.

The hit is what it is, but my point is where were his teammates? No pack mentality.

Exactly, Cowboyz, no camaraderie. You can see it, you can feel it. It's in their body language. This is not a family, it's just a bunch of players on the field. No "us vs. world" mentality. It's The Culture....and it's so bad. And we all see it. We just choose to ignore it. Why?

Here is my advice. Get the redzone and start fantasy football, let’s you have some enjoyment and really watch other pro teams instead of this clown show. Unfortunately you have to watch this when it’s on prime time but if they play when the redzone is on it will help your mental health. And when the tv flips to Jerry jones stupid old drunk face flip him the bird and have a good day

Everything you say is true. So either it’s scripted that way. There was no way the nfl would left the giants lose on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Or. Dallas players are gambling on the outcomes and doing prop bets on certain plays. Because nobody can be that bad. The Giants could have scored 70 last night. Harbaugh was playing clock. Spared us the beating. You decide.

I used to live for the NFL season. I don't even get that excited anymore. I had a feeling this team was going to lay an egg last night. I didn't watch the game and haven't seen any highlights. I can honestly say that if the NFL folded tomorrow, l wouldn't lose any sleep. 30 years of watching your favorite team crap the bed will open your eyes to how much time you're wasting. I'll always root for the Cowboys, but l won't be making plans around them anymore.

A lack of discipline. I didn't like it at all. He was having a tough night and wanted to vent. Can't do that. IMO, the best insult is to walk it in, not even look at your opponent, drop the ball and walk away like you did this 1000 times and it's boring. Not what he did.

That said, it shouldn't have hurt us. But if you remember, Aubrey's first 2 extra points barely got in there. It did not surprise me when he missed the 48 yarder.

I said it in an earlier post and actually for years.. there is something inherently wrong within this organization.

It’s embedded.

Call it culture or something else.

I believe it’s a weak mindset that starts at the top.

No preseason games for the starters. Fearful of injuries.

Schotty not going for it last night with inches to go.

Lack of physicality on both sides.

Penalties, boneheaded plays by the quarterback, piss poor coaching.

Someday it will get better.

I can feel your pain

That was truly an embarrassing mess last night to sit through worse yet I watched it again on NFL Network to make sure I was really seeing the same groundhog Day we've been seeing for years.

It's definitely not enjoyable football to watch painfully inept and horribly coached year after year.

Feel like I'm in the Twilight zone going back to Romo and Garrett.

The stupid penalties will we ever hire a coach that can get a handle on the penalties ever before I'm dead

We have the highest paid player in the NFL throwing balls up for grabs before halftime

I can't make this stuff up I can fully understand brother why the strain is more than you can bare

And believe me there's a lot more constructive things to do with your time then waste it watching this horrible product.

Really don't know why I continue to watch it myself other than my loyalty to Roger Staubach who continues to watch it.

It's not my Cowboys anymore nothing even close to what I grew up with they just wear the same clothes.
