This Was The Turning Point of the Game For Me

We were up 9-7 and driving the ball down their throats. Eagles up to that point had did much of nothing. I believe we were on a 9 play drive and ran the ball every play or all except one. It was 2 and medium and what is our call? A slow developing, predictable reverse to Wilson. Does Kellen Moore not know to stick with what it working? That made it 3rd and very long, settled for a very long FG. Not even close. Eagles get the ball in good field position and go down and score. And that was pretty much game for me. Such a maddening play call that made zero sense.

Even Collinsworth said had we just kept ramming the ball down their throats going north and south, they probably do not stop us. At the worst, we have a much easier FG try and extend the lead to 12-7. We needed every point we could get this game. But with how we were driving, we could have made it 16-7 and who knows what happens from there.

But we've stopped running when it has been working for two straight games now... Zeke getting decent chunks at a time, and then they pull him for Pollard and the running game stops. Makes no sense why you pull a guy and change up when it is working.

How anybody else thought differently is beyond me

But did you watch this game? This was game was winnable. It's not like the last 2 weeks where we come in and lay an egg and have zero chance. This defense got us 4 turnovers. We had a lead and driving midway in the 3rd. How anyone could not see the Eagles are as trash as us and they were begging for us to win this game is beyond me.

Agreed.

Even before that, I still didn't think we would win but that 3-4 minute stretch where we called that stupid play and then Philly got the ball at midfield and quickly scored a TD was the death blow.

Was that also the drive for the bizarre roughing the penalty call on Gregory?

All of that is true..and Dallas still never had a shot to win the game

Fans spent years complaining about Garrett's predictable offense...

Now fans complain that Moore should be more predictable...

Yep that was right before halftime I think. Maybe. It was such a weak call. But I don't think Philly ended up scoring on that drive, though.

Another thing they did wrong was the play calls for DiNucci. Everything should have been short and quick. One read types. He has no idea how to be comfortable in the pocket. The drive where we are up 3-0 and inside the Eagles 15, he sat in the pocket way too long and gets strip sacked and they recover. That is points off the board. You can't have a guy like that sit back and examine the field. He isn't good.

We were losing no matter what. Unless Wentz throws some pick 6's at the end, there was no way were winning.

They did, though. This was never more than 1 possession game until the god awful fumble return. The last 2 weeks, Dallas never had a shot to win. Last night, they did.

The Eagles are a very bad football team. As bad as us and we are using our 3rd stringer.

Just because we lost the game and no one gave us a shot before the game to win, does not in turn mean that game was not winnable.

Yes of course..the game was in reach if Dallas had a competent qb..they didn't..Dallas never even sniffed the end zone..NOT ONCE..

I posted during the game thread, that play changed the course of the game.

I am officially more so than ever on the "fire Moore" wagon.

Yes sir, absolutely.

That was the killer. Don't know why you don't stick with what is working

We couldn't get to the redzone, couldn't score TDs, couldnt throw the ball, couldnt stop the run, and gave the ball away as fast we got turnovers. The offense was entirely reliant on trickery and screens except for one drive where they ran it over and over which isn't sustainable either.

Yes the Eagles are bad and no it never looked like either team was dominant. Still, i never once thought Dallas had more than a coin-flip chance of winning. I expected the Eagles to score a TD or 2 and leave us and our field goals behind and thats exactly what happened.

Don't get me wrong I loved the fact our D showed some promise with the exception of Jaylon Smith getting washed play after play and taking horrible angles to the ball carrier. We did get 4 turnovers and still lost the game. That's the only reason it was even close! Turning point for me was definitely the play described by the Op ed but also how we were "gashed" again by the run game..Geez Louise!

That's such a false dichotomy. I can view JG's offense as predictable and also acknowledge that an offense built entirely of trick plays, screen plays, and runs up the middle is not sustainable.

100%. It snowballed on us from there. When you have a beat up, struggling team coaches cant make stupid mistakes. We were about to be up by 2 scores and boy wonder got cute.
