just what type of team Dallas is..................

Just kidding :D I figured I'd get it out there before anyone said this AGAIN this week. We have arrived fellows, no more this week is the test stuff :laugh1:

I disagree. If Cowboys are going to be the team we hope for, they have to take care of business and beat the Lions. This would be our 3rd straight win and begin to show the consistency that Parcells and others will look for in a legit contending team. So far we've only won 2 games in a row on 2 occasions. If we want to seriously be viewed as a contender we need to beat the 4-5 Lions in our home stadium; that is why good teams do. Denver is different because they are a 7-2 team and thus viewed as a serious contender already. Beating the Lions will show we on a roll cause we can beat a team we can win a game that we expected to win. IF we can then also beat the 7-2 Broncos (only a .500 team on the road), then our 8-2 record makes us 1 of top teams along with Seattle & Carolina. Of course I'm hoping that we get a little help from Eagles (against Giants) and Raiders (against Commanders just because I hate these guys).

Yeah I don't think the detroit game is a gimme win for us. But I do like our chances at home, we seem to play better.

And just in case folks didn't know. All of these games that are supposed to be tests for the boys when we were sitting at 2-2. Well we have gone 4-1 since. I would say they have been tested pretty good. Except for Cortez, he blew chunks and lost us the seattle game. Thank god Parcells cut his arse.

All games are important, but the next critical game is @NYG. It has a good chance to be the deciding game for the NFCE title.

In the new NFL, every week is a test and you can't take any team for granted anymore or you may lose the game. This team has not yet shown the consistency I would like to see, it needs to string a few wins together and that takes a killer instinct I'm not sure I 've seen yet. Any way you look at it though, they're much better than last year. They should beat Detroit, but who knows? Denver will be a test and so will Carolina, not to mention NY and Washington.

Its vital to show were better then we played at Filthy...
Its time to show that we can not only beat the Lions at Home but a very impressive offensive team in Denv.

If we can look good these 2 games, we might be onto something special!

We can beat the Lions with our usual D, but vs Demver we will HAVE to be much less predictable on nickle downs.

We have got to be more innovative with the special talent we have on D!

This D has the talent for 3 sacks, 3 picks & 2 scores (At least in scoring position per game)

This game will leave Detroit thankful that the NFL doesnt take margin of defeat into account like the BCS.... :D

Until this team makes the playoffs, I won't be satisfied. Once we get there, they need to pull out a win. This entire season is a test. In today's NFL, don't take anything for granted.

must-win game, just like the Arizona game. Time to put strings of W's together and consistently beat the teams that aren't going anywhere. They're banged up, both their QBs suck, their 3 best DBs are out....losing to Detroit would be embarrassing.
Furthermore, it makes our journey to win the division that much harder because I'm betting both the skins and giants win on sunday.

So, let me get this straight. We're not a contender, but Denver is a contender? They are also a team that has lost a crushing game. They are one game in front of us and have lost to the Miami Dolphins. Not a really good team. Theyve also lost to a team we have beaten. Give me a break. Some people just want to make an excuse to make themselves feel better. This team (Dallas)is a contender for 2 reasons. We have talented depth and we don't quit.

To me, no team has truly "arrived" until the season concludes. In today's league, any number of teams could suddenly emerge or decline with the tip of a hat.

This week's game IS a huge game. As was last week's, and next week's. If we're going to be a top team, we need to go 12-4 or 11-5, which means we can only stand one or two more losses. Not a ton of wiggle room.

I agree. The minute you start thinking you've arrived and everything is going to be easy and good, somebody usually hands you your head. You have to prove yourself every week.

Totally agree with Dale but would like to add that to start being taken seriously by the rest of the league, we not only need to beat the Lions but beat them convincingly. One game at a time people...

after 3 games in 11 days and going against a recognized legitimate AFC contender in the Broncos, THAT game will define us as a possible NFC champion. we would be expected to have a letdown and be a bit banged up the following week, which is also a critical game. but let us beat the Lions and then the Broncos, and i think anyone would be forced to admit we are a force to be reckoned with.
on a personal note, my dad is a michigan native and Lions fan - my little brother, a Denver native and lifelong Broncos fan!!! should be fun!!!

so what if we beat the Lions by 3 and get beat by the Broncos by 3 (not that I think that will happen)? My point is that after years of us waiting to find out when we are a "good" team, we are finally there. Now what you guys are talking about is being a "super" team. Nobody in this version of the NFL can ever "arrive" as a super team. The NFL is to up and down to ever think you can win any game easily these days.

What I would say is that this team is capable of playing with anybody. Doesn't mean we always will win but we are now good enough to be in every game IMHO.

We only have 4 homes games left, and this should be by far the easiest one of those 4, so losing it would not look good. It wouldn't ruin our chances or anything, but I would imagine our confidence would take a big hit.
