If this team is going to salvage this season, they simply cannot lose to a lesser, divisional opponent at home. This week's game is in that "must win" variety.

There is a glimmer of hope for this defensive squad as they have several players set to return this season: Lve, Lee, Gregory, Awuzie, Brown.

The Giants have been just as bad on offense as the Cowboys have been on the defensive side. Something has to give. This is the week that either sinks the ship on the 2020 season or sets the coarse of getting through this rough patch.

Meh, I’ve seen a post wince week 1 saying it was a “must win”. This would be our worst loss by far, and I don’t think it will happen, but in this division it’s far from a “must win.”

And then what?
The victim is D.O.A. the rest is simply Jones sauce.....

For some odd reason... I dont think we will win. And even if we do... there is no cause for celebration in defeating one of the worst team sin the league

It’s not an odd reason, it’s bc we are terrible.

so when do u need to acutally start winning games 1 and 3 is not a good place if they lose to ny wishis very possible this team is done

The next 4 games are must wins.
Going into the season. Many fans probably had us at 2-2 after 4 games, and after 8 games, 6-2 or 5-3. Win the next 4 and be about where expected.
Wins against Falcons and Browns, Losses against Rams and Seahawks.

However the way the defense has played, can they win just 1 game. If the defense can improve even 10% to 20%, and the offense keeps rolling, they can do it. All on the defense and no turnovers by the offense.

this team is already done....I hate to tell you but the defense has quit and once the quitting starts there is no stopping it until you cut the quitters

While i don’t really believe in must win games. Even in week 5.

The only path to a playoff spot is going to be winning the division. So the cowboys can’t afford to drop games to the giants or the skins for that matter. And will need to split the eagles.

cowboys have to go 5-1 in the division to have a shot at the playoffs IMO. So if that holds true. Then yes this is must win.

We are 1 game out of being the 7th seeded playoff team as a WC.
Well, we are tied with several teams 1 game out of something like 5, 2-2 teams.

Means absolutely nothing in itself. But this game is a must win, being against a division opponent.

you are totally right and i completely agree with your logic.

However, the problem is this view is applicable assuming a team has the capability to win - from what we have seen with this team's defense, i just don't believe that they have the capability unfortunately.

Hard to hope for the cowboys to lose, but I have never seen a defense this bad - and if that means we are done for the year, i am ready to just see them play the young guys, and bench the quitters knowing full well we are likely going to go no better than 4-12.

Division is so bad there won't be any must wins until the last month of the season.

They do get 3 divisional games in the next month so they can get a few wins.

None of these games are must-wins. Its just another game for either the Cowboys to beat a team they are suppose to or lose like they have every other week. We are WEEK away from must-wins.

Hilarious how some people here don't think anything is a must-win until the last game of the season given some of the responses. This is definitely a must-win.
