Here are the games this weekend.

Don't get hung up on the importance factor. There is no stated formula for how they derive it. For Cowboys' fans the Giants game is where it's at this weekend. I suspect the Packers and Seahawks game is 'most' important because it is more important in determining the #1-4 seeds. We have a 2.5 game lead on Sea for HFA with a 95% chance of winning the #1 seed. My guess is they are giving us the benefit of the doubt we have pretty much sewed that up.

I'd love to see the Packers upset Sea. If we beat the Giants and Sea loses we win the #1 seed.

I'm ambivalent about the Bucs but I think they win that game and put more pressure on the Giants and Skins. Right now the Bucs are the 6th seed and control their destiny. They do have to win out to be the sixth seed....without any help. Again that's as it stands today.

Lions win at home.

Falcons probably win at SL.

Commanders probably beat the Eagles at home but I'm pulling for the Eagles.....sour taste in mouth. The Skins need a win and a Bucs loss here.

Just a place to discuss the what ifs coming up this weekend. The playoff picture can clear up this weekend.

Like you pointed out. Our game is most important and should have most of if not all our attention but a win for the Boys and a win for the Bucs would be put me in an amazing mood all next week. Keeping the skins out the playoffs would be great. Nothing better then hearing our NFC east rival fans crying. What ever happens in the Packs V Hawks game is whatever. Kinda expect Seattle to get the win.

I get what they are doing with 'importance factor'. Teams that are out of contention aren't playing for anything....games for them have little importance. Teams like the Cowboys who have secured high seeding have motivation, but it's far from do or die, so the game carries moderate importance for us.

The Giants can't win the division but have a little cushion for the wild card. Sunday's night game for the G-men isn't must-have as far as the playoffs.

The Packers-Seattle game OTOH features a Packer team absolutely in a corner in a must-win situation facing a Seattle team trying to achieve a #2 seed.

I believe that's true. If we win this weekend, they need to lose 1 game the rest of the way to be out of the running for the #1 seed. I don't actually want them to lose this weekend.

There are going to be some awesome games this weekend. Right now, there are 9 teams in the NFC in the running for the playoffs. I'll say Seattle has the West locked up, so they'll be a 2-4 seed most likely (we have #1 seed).

We'll play the winner of #4 v #5 so we just don't want them to get the 4. But they still have the Pack, and two divisional games against teams they didn't beat earlier this year. The NFC North is still open, Detroit is ahead now but both the Pack and Vikings could pull it off, and they're still in contention for the Wildcard. The South is really between the Falcons/Bucs with both still in hunt for Wildcard too. East still has Giants/Skins.

The Seattle v Packers game is huge. Seattle loses, we win, they're out of #1 seed. They're away this week @ GB though and the Packers have been playing better and are basically treating every game like a playoff game. A win keeps them in the hunt, and a Seattle loss hurts which would increase their chances of a 4 seed. I don't really want the Pack to make the playoffs at all, so i'm rooting for Seattle even though it seems counterintuitive.

Buccaneers v Saints is big too. I wouldn't mind playing the Bucs 2nd round if I had my choice (we'll see when we play them), so they'd need to be a 4 or 5. I'd rather not play the Falcons with their offense, and they basically have a W at Rams, so optimally a Bucs win here is good. If they lose, then lose against us, they're probably out of the playoffs altogether. Want Bucs to win. The Falcons schedule is a cakewalk though so you may just want Bucs to lose as many as possible, so they miss out, to get a NYG in or something

Lions v Bears. I want the Lions on our side of the bracket. If the Lions win and the Vikes/Pack lose, I'll just say they clinch the North. It's not guaranteed because their schedule gets tough and they'll obviously lose to us. Optimally I'd want the Lions to get the 4-5 seed. With their schedule, that's definitely a possibility. I'd say root for a loss to clinch, but we can clinch against the Bucs anyway, regardless if they win or lose. I also don't want Rodgers. Root for a win.

Falcons v Rams. Meh. Looking at the Falcs schedule, I think it's safe to put them in. I think they'll be the 2-3 seed. I really don't want to see them getting the 4-5, but it looks like they'll probably win that division and one of the NFC North will be the 4th seed. Root for a win.

Us v Giants. Don't need explained. But this gets interesting after this week. A loss and the Giants entire playoff chances are up in the air. They'll still have the Lions, Eagles, and Skins. How good are they without JPP? Would we rather the possibility of the Giants or the Skins in the playoffs? We'll see which one tomorrow, could be rooting for the Giants to make it over the Skins if we matchup against them.

Skins v Eagles. Obviously huge, I don't really want to see Skins again if they're a 5 seed. A loss, some other playoff teams win, and they're basically out. Eagles are melting down so I don't see it.

Vikings v Jax. This might actually be a really good game if Jax can stop turning the ball over, mainly because the Vikings OL is so terrible and Jax has been getting after the QB lately. If the Vikes lose, I think they're done. They're offically playing for their lives right now. Optimally, I'd rather see the Vikes get into the playoffs over the Pack. I think we'd play better the 2nd time around and in Dallas. Root for the Vikes, even though this game is going to be a lot better than people think, if you like defense anyway. It'll probably be an offensive cluster.

What I'd like to see, as far as playoff seeds
1) Dallas
2) Seattle (could switch with Atlanta)
3) Atlanta
4) Detroit (could switch with Minny)
5) Vikings
6) Bucs

No Packers, no Commanders. Giants can go home too. We'd have a home game against the winner of Detroit/Minny, and Seattle would play winner of Atlanta/TB.

For that to happen I want a Seattle win(Packers loss), Atlanta win, Detroit win, Bucs win, Skins loss.

Seattle/Atlanta as the 2 and 3 is actually looking like what will happen so that's good. I really don't care if the Vikes are a 4 or 5, I just don't want the Pack in. So both North teams winning and Seattle winning helps us.

Feel like Commanders are going to throw a wrench into the whole plan though, their schedule is pretty easy.

This isn't what I think will happen btw, this is what I want to happen. I actually think is pretty unlikely, one of the Packers/Commanders/Giants will get in most likely, bet my scenario isn't impossible yet so here's to hoping.

Damn. Excellent break down. I'm with you on it all. I'd rather not play the Skins or Pack either.

We would play #4,5 or 6. We'll get the lowest seed.

The Pack vs. Seattle game should be interesting. Both teams will have something at stake. I'd like to see the Pack take that one.

This is true, Jr.

Division winner one (presumably, us) plays WC 1 or 2, or Div 4. The lowest seed of the three to advance past the first round is who we land.

I do not want to play the Bucs or any NFCE team. Would love to land ATL or MIN. Ryan is a JAG and a dear in headlights under pressure. Doesn't have the D to carry him, not even close. MIN is all jacked up, from QB, to RB, to Oline.

Next thing I know you'll be telling me that football is not the only sport on TV.
