Mike Vanderjagt-K- Cowboys May. 28 - 3:08 pm et

Former Colts and Cowboys K Mike Vanderjagt has obtained his release from the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.

Still the NFL's most accurate kicker ever (86.4% FGs), Vanderjagt hinted that he'll consider retirement. "I enjoy my life out of the spotlight," said the 39-year-old. "I thoroughly appreciate all the Argonauts have done for me over the course of my career both before my time in the NFL and after."

Dude.....you're a kicker. If that gets you a free Big Mac at McDonalds, be happy about it.

That's a bit harsh, considering there's maybe a half-million people who know his name.

I'm surprised he hasn't landed another job in the NFL. I mean he's only 39 and he had a good career, minus his last two seasons.

He sucked for us.

I'm glad we found our kicker. Last year was a great draft.

He may still have the physical ability, but after his miss in Indy against Pitt he was never the same mentally.

He's done.

Vanderjagt's probably very grateful that the Pittsburgh Steelers didn't crash his retirement party. They would've shown up in droves singing, "Thanks for the memories, Wide Right Mikey"!!!

Yep.

Funny thing is I remember Bill saying he took more chances or was more aggressive on offense due to the kicker slice/pull technique.

:laugh2:

He gets a lot of grief for his mouth and how good he wasn't in Dallas, but for the time he was in Indy, he's one of the best to ever kick in the NFL. Almost 70% from 50+. Amazing.
