I know I'm being "that fan" who uses PFF when it's convenient, but this offers a different perspective to the normal griping on this board.

PFF's top units of the week.

DEFENSIVE LINE: DALLAS COWBOYS
If games are won and lost in the trenches, then Dallas has the right mindset. The Cowboys were one of six teams this past week who did not concede a passing touchdown, and the pressure generated by their defensive line played a substantial factor in that feat.

The usual suspects of Demarcus Lawrence and Maliek Collins had no issues finding their way to Miami’s quarterback, but the addition of Robert Quinn was what truly put this unit over the top. Quinn managed to accumulate five quarterback pressures (with a sack to boot) which resulted in his top-ten 90.0 pass-rush grade. More impressively, he generated a 33.3% pass-rush win rate which tied for first at his position. If Quinn continues his rally with his new team, expect this unit to appear on this list again soon.

I said during the game, amidst the normal rabble of gripes, that they looks like they were getting a lot of push. It looked to me like Quinn was firing off and the rest were purposely holding the line. Quinn for fire off high and Tank would loop back under.

It was a marked improvement to me from the first couple games.

Agreed.

I thought they were too.

I think the gripes about the defensive line in general are over-the-top.

it was MIAMI..lol

hows that for narrative too bad we didnt play 16 Miamis..

Same old shtick. Complain when something isn't happening and then when it does qualify it negatively.

How about the fact we got Quinn back? Or the fact that Tank is still getting in game shape?

No no, that would put a positive spin on things. Get out.

we shall see against better teams..not NEG , FACTS we've played 3 bad teams.. good tune-ups but really overall have not looked great against 3 bad teams..

last i remember was the Rams game= BAD, 3 bad teams and nothing special.. they have issues , im waiting until that changes to give them props..

Most important job for the defensive line is to stop the run and make the other team one dimensional. They did that.
They also got a good push and 3 sacks.

In general, solid. Not enough splash plays to make it a dominating performance.

Ok folks.

They used max protect a lot.

Rosen also threw the ball quickly ... often too quickly.

Defensive pressure looks different under those conditions. You aren't getting a ton of sacks when the O is focused on having seven blockers and quick passes.

Guess what. That stuff didn't work. Rosen was terrible.

Exactly what I’ve been saying since Sunday. Some people just weren’t paying attention to the play on the field. Even though they only had 3 sacks the defense was getting pressure on just about every play.

We will soon find out. I think we have played against the two worst OL in the league in Miami and the giants and a Commanders team without their all pro LT
Only thing about that ideology is.... No one cares or gives us sympathy when we play wounded. It’s always the opposition celebrating like they won a Super Bowl when they beat us. No matter what the circumstances are. So why do our fans always discredit our wins based on the opponents? That’s just silly and very whiney to say the least.

No, it’s because GB has Aaron Rodgers...rather than an over-the-hill (Eli), mediocre (Keenum) or inexperienced (Rosen) QB.

More concerned with NO than GB. Why does everyone look at the past and accept that as their future?

Not sure Rogers isn't going downhill either.
