Going way back to Tony Pauline's rumor at the senior bowl, Cowboys are looking to target an early WR and run defenders.

-After the top 4 WR prospects, huge drop-off at the position. Might not even be an upgrade over what we already have in house at the position. Perfect world, you find a trade partner and still get the receiver you want. Furthest you move back is 17 in front of Seattle who is also looking at the position.

-Day 2 is all about finding a run defense upgrade and filling the RB position. Run defense upgrade could be at LB or DT.

Keep in mind, Eberflus is a former LB coach and his first Colts draft pick was Darius Leonard who won the defensive rookie of the year. His 1st signings were 2 linebackers with the Bears. Both Schwesginer and Knight could definitely be in play.

What about a possible NT? Williams, Collins, maybe Grant could be there at 44.

There will be good depth at the RB position on day 2, but might be all dried up come their next pick in the 5th rd.

-Day 3

#1 find depth at the corner position, perhaps target a nickel corner to compete to become the starter.
#2 take the other run defense position not selected on day 2 at LB or DT
#3 add another running back in this deep class
#4 continue to add more pieces to develop on the OL

Bottom line the team has needs everywhere, I don't see much improvement based on FA signings. What cant happen is drafting traits guys early and whiffing. They need to hit on as many picks as possible and just add talent in the aggregate. This team is still bottoming out and one draft wont fix everything but it can help them turn the corner.

Shemur Stewart comes to mind. McClay loves him some Sparq

Yeah I saw him comped to the guy the Jets drafted early a few years back who was all SPARQY and produced next to nothing on field. Was it Gholston?

My bet is we will go WR and LB with the first two picks as you said. They will gamble thinking they have capable RB’s, Williams and Sanders, and can get one at the 3rd or later and screw this whole thing up……
post of your life!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what I'm thinking also unless they get a curveball.......

I’m with you 100% and I think the draft could fall well for us as long as TMac is there at 12 or we can find a trade down partner.

1 - WR
2 - NT
3 - RB

With such a loaded class at DT and RB there’s a pretty good chance the BPA will be one of those positions.

I don't care what position, upgrade their run defense with pick 44 and add more depth in the 5th rd.

This is a good strategy. DE and CB are on the menu, but with DE we might be good with the young players on hand + Fowler. CB we will have to spend some money on post draft. There are still a few starters on the market.

Fixing the run, Im think LB would have to be day 2. It gets pretty weak. Schwesinger and Knight are they guys they have shown interest in. I may have missed it but I haven't seen them showing interest in Campbell. In this draft I think you can get a rotational run plugger day 3. Any of Toia, Cam Jackson, Yahya Black, Nazir Stackhouse could be there in the 5th. And thats probably leaving several out

Rocket Sanders could be the day 3 value. I could even see him winding up a feature.

The more I watch him the more I get Demarco Murray vibes. Even more than I do with Hampton.
My only gripe is Johnson does not add a whole lot in the passing game. But I do feel he’s an upgrade at RB.

Big fans of Johnson, Neal and Gordon

-I don't think they will wait on RB this yr, cause we saw what happened the last two drafts, left with players who really didn't upgrade what we currently have.

-Take the best available DT or LB at 44 to improve their run defense and add the other on day 3 for depth purposes. This is where adding that extra pick would really make an impact if they were able to swing a small trade back. They had their DL coach go to Maryland and Oregon, watch those two NT's later on if they are unable to address the NT on day 2.

-I haven't seen urgency this offseason needing another high corner. They have spoken with a few, but really not that many. We only have 1 of the 30 list too. They could target another corner to compete for reps at the position, kind of like they did with Carson last year.

I fully believe they are comfortable with Bland, Elam and Carson until Diggs returns. No need to overdraft CH
