The Cowboys aren't good this year, because other players on their team are great.

Why does this thinking work? Prescott isn't as good as Wentz because the offensive line is great. The defense isn't that good because the offense is doing well. Ezekiel Elliott isn't that good because the offensive line is opening huge holes for him.

Maybe everyone is feeding off each other, and everyone else is jealous.

I'm just getting fed up with naysayers detracting from the Cowboys success because they find fault with good play. It's very backwards thinking.

Funny, you don't hear that about the 90s teams, at least not from anybody with any sense. This isn't the NBA where one guy is often everything.

The Cowboys are winning mostly because of great QB play. This past game was not great QB play and was the result of good coaching, a little luck, and clutch moments down the stretch. I don't think we necessarily deserved to win this game but all of these guys pulled together and pulled it out. The eagles are a formidable opponent with a defense that's designed to crush the QB, but we have a very good offensive line and I think it's sort of a draw.

So if folks want to say that we have more talent, then I'll say, draft better.

Welcome to Cowboy fandom
You're right, it's BECAUSE they're the Cowboys that they get this treatment. Other teams get praise for playing at a high level, the Cowboys get backhanded compliments.

The funny thing I've read on here is that the Cowboys are exceeding their level of talent... Which I find funny.

The offense has loads of talent. And if anything I think the defense has delivered less than their talent level the last couple seasons.

I can't tell if you're serious or not

Me either!

But let me say this. That Philly defense is the same defense that completely embarrassed the Steelers and give them there worst lose in like 30-years. Completed shut down probably the most potent offense in the NFL over the last few years.

I think the D is exceeding their level this year but that's what you want

Well, you did -- but only from the fans of other teams who were envious. You'd hear it as evidence of why Troy shouldn't be in the HOF, or why Emmitt isn't the greatest ever, or why it's OK if only one of those OL get in the HOF.

The truth is, as the OP is getting at, all the great teams have this "problem."

This ain't basketball. One superstar can't carry you to the Finals every year.

Yep I heard it when Aikman and Irvin were up for the HOF. And even though Emmitt was a lock a lot of people gave credit to the OL.

I am not getting behind them until they beat a good team. They haven't beaten anyone yet.
Going into GB and beating Rodgers is almost impossible to do. That Philly team we beat last night is no joke either. CIN was in the playoffs last year at 12-4 and WASH won the East. It's not like we are playing division 2 teams every week.

I agree but it would be a little hypocritical to press it. Fans are even worse. You keep hearing how Player "X" won a game with his big play but the other ten guys on the field had to do their job and the 11 guys on defense had to make the play relevant by keeping the score close.

It truly is a team game and good coaches realize that a great team will always beat a team with great players. It is a symbiotic relationship. Each part of the team depends on the other parts.

Whenever I see a player celebrating or taunting like he did everything himself I think how cool it would be for the coach to send that player out on the field alone to run a play against the other team, just that one player. I think it would be a great lesson.

Same as the old days. Aikman wasn't good because of the team. Smith wasn't good because of the OL. Irvin wasn't good because of his team. Same old same old. I hope the results turn out the same.
True. They say Emmit was a product of the Oline and if Barry Sanders had the Cowboys line he would shattered every record in the known universe
