This year's out-of-nowhere rookie that sticks?

Hey Miles Austin last preseason got about no raves from media ... he caught one pass in preseason, 48 yd TD vs. N Orleans, fly/go pattern. That was it. Then he was active for a fair part of the regular season (?), a big surprise. No complaints as he earned his pay one nite in the NW.

There's going to be another 1, 2 or 3 guys this year that might be suited up opening day ... he/they are only thought of as early cuts only because he/they havent been singled out for mistakes yet, or done anything great either:

Alan Ball, 2 solo tackles
Khari Long, 2 solo tackles
Blair Philips, 1 solo tackle
Obomese, 2 solo tackles and sack
Bilbo .. made some ooh/ahh catches in camp after his transition, no tackles (is he on special teams now /??)
Courtney Brown ... seems to be the rookie DB with the most potential ..., 3 solo tackles, he won't be a surprise so forget I brought him up ...

Anybody seen any dynamic guy, on special teams other than D. Anderson (only 1 solo tackle so far, being a wedge buster will only take you so far) that might earn a spot? ...

Are we sandbagging anybody so he won't be seen on tape ???

I figure it's somebody, prolly DB, who isn't on the roster yet .. a cutdown pickup or trade ...

I only write this because Miles Austin was a one-catch fluke last year yet he stuck around ... a BP favorite because he's from Jersey no doubt ... he and Carp got hall passes last year yet had a good final exam grade!

Theres no room this year on this talented roster for an out of nowhere guy. All those types will be headed to the practice squad.

Remi Ayodele is certainly on this list. He is pulling away from other NT candidates but we need to see if he continues improve in remaining 2 preseason games.

Curtis is making a good play for 3rd TE position but again he needs continue play well both receiving and blocking.

Joey Thomas makes mistakes but so do all CBs but also makes some good plays. Will see if he continues improve, makes plays, and becomes more consistent.

Haven't included any of the players we drafted cause obviously they will all get a close look. Certainly Spencer, Marten, Free, Stanbach & Folk stick & Anderson must show enough talent at ST while developing his FB skills to beat out Polite who looked pretty good against Broncos while Hoyte was out. Ball goes to PS & probably Brown too but only if we sure he makes it through waivers. Anderson could go to PS but am concerned he won't make it through waivers as Pats expressed lot interest in him.

The only guy that I would put there, maybe is Jackie Battle,

I think now with his ankle sprain, that he cant show too much in time, but if its not serious he could play in last preseason game, and light it up.

Jeff Ireland did or supposedly say this, that kicker Folk will not be put on waiver to bring to practice squad, he will be grabbed up too quickly. So, all in all, like Wade Phillips said, we will probably keep 2 kickers, that leaves Ball and Brown probably on practice squad.

Only other player I would maybe say comes out of nowhere is Hannanh, the TE, he is so raw though, I dont think any team would spend that time on him for their team roster, but you never know, he could show something in next few days.

Now, Moore, I dont see him going on the practice squad, I think some team like Atlanta if they dont make that trade with Commanders to get Brunnel, they would take a chance on a young rookie QB, with the head coach, having good experience in making good QBs out of college. So, I say Moore makes the team roster too.

Other player that makes the team, is the WR Urban, he has been doing good, it looks more and more now with Tyson Thompson doing well running like the Cowboys make trade Miles Austin whom is doing terribly, but most likely cut him, unless he improves next few preseason games.

Just my thoughts though, and the big NT that is brother of our linebacker Okin.
