Position: Defensive end/tackle
Height/Weight: 6-2, 294
Age: 24
College: Middle Tennessee State
NFL Exp: R
How Acquired: Free Agent
Hometown: Memphis, Tenn.

Fitting In: Bill Parcells had been working Johnson at defensive tackle, but he moved him to end after Marcus Spears suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee, a high ankle sprain and a strained calf muscle.

So Far: Johnson had four would-be sacks in Saturday's team scrimmage while working at third-team left end behind Kenyon Coleman and Jay Ratliff. He still might be a long shot to make the roster, but he's making Parcells' job tougher.

Best Asset: Size. Johnson is big enough to play the nose in a 3-4 or take on offensive tackles straight-up as a defensive end.

You Should Know: Ratliff? was president of Middle Tennessee State's Omega Psi Phi fraternity chapter for two years. He stills spends a lot of time with his frat brothers, just not in Oxnard.

A Mouthful: "It wasn't a dance. I just got excited. I don't even remember what I did, but I know I did something. - When asked if he did a little celebration dance after one of his four sacks Saturday.

Dale if you see him tell him he has another frat. bro. ROOting for him

Thanks for the post. Sounds like we may have another diamond in the rough. Hope we can develop him.

I know Tucker better give him some money and ask him to start going half speed or else Torrin will be cut.

I don't care who he is, if he's posting 4 sacks I want him on my team. Let's see if he can do it against opposing opponents now.

Can we send Torrin Tucker to every opponent we face this year?

You know, a little charity.

This may have been a case of poor o-line play rather than the D scheme.

Yeah that's it!......It's the scheme making stars........yeah.....the scheme......yeah.....that must be it......Why the hell didn't we switch years ago?! We probably would've had like 15 Super Bowl championships by now! That pathetic 4-3 only got us like a record 5......What the hell were we thinking?.......

I'll tell you what, Nors.

If your beloved scheme can make an undrafted free agent look as good against Jon Jenson, Jon Runyan, and Kareem MacKenzie as he did against Torrin Tucker....

...I will tatoo "3-4" on my forehead.

3-4 on your forehead, eh Barb?

You're making it hard for me to be objective about our defense ... :)

Nors - half jest at the jesters = clever.
