Me either. Seems as though they made a financial committment to Benson and are determined to make him "the man" whether he is the better player or not.

This seems like a great deal for the Jets.. and there is no question the Bears are not as good a team as they were yesterday.

im confused, I am not talking about thomas jones. I am speaking about julius jones almost being traded on draft day last year to the jets for their second, so we could package both our 2s to get back into the first round in front of new england and draft lawrence maroney.

by the way, this now means we have the jones vs jones bowl again here in Dallas.

And I will take any bet that anyone wants to make with me that we play the Jets on turkey day this year, just like last time the jones brothers played each other.

yes they contacted us, but because of the connctions with the two franchises, I bet it was discussed all spring.

And we were only going to do it if we could move up into the first round to get maroney.

Excellent job by the Jets. I have always rooted for those guys because I am a Red Sox fan and they remind me of the Red Sox pre-2004 so I can relate. I hope this helps them to big things in the AFC. Plus if it helps Mangini shove it in Belichick's face, all the better. J-E-T-S!

we werent going after him with our 1st pick. We were trying to acquire the jets 2nd and then use it to get back into the first round to get him.

I am not sure if ne taking him squashed it or they new ne was going to take him and we couldnt make a deal with san diego to move up.

This is all norm talked about for the whole draft and has brought it up many times.

Norm never found out what made it fall through...the cowboys denied it after it didt happen. Norm had it from like 3 different people that it was a deal both sides were working on that morning.
