If TT can break one kickoff return, he will automatically make the team regardless of how he runs on offense. IMO. I know its hard to do but if I were him I would have to be thinking, one good return and it will make it almost impossible to hide him on the practice squad. Anyway I'm anxious to see this kid play even though I think BP has his reservations about him.

What do ya'll think?

Maxmadden- I think that's a fair prediction. I really hope we hang onto this one. He's got loads of potential.

I think he makes the team if he shows enough in the run game that you would be scared to put him on the practice squad - if that happens then BP has to decide between Atrain and a FB IMO

good gawd, how about we need a backup RB, too???? I'm not placing an ounce of faith in MBIII or thomas until they flash something special. If this kid produces, he makes the team as both a backup RB and KR.

I dont know if he will make it through to the practice squad, I am sure every team has a few Tyson Thompsons that they want to keep, but when you have one, is it worth the risk of losing him. I think he makes the team cause Bill does not want to take a chance of losing him on waivers. But who to cut? Can we afford to keep him on the roster? Thats the question.

Atrain was a freebie and he is not going to show you anything special if that is what you are looking for. MBIII , as a 4th rounder is almost a lock to make the team unless he is just horrible. Thompson could be a better runner than both of them, but no experience.

It is probably going to be one of BP's hardest decisions if Thompson is special because you know that he really would like to have the experience of Atrain backup Julius rather than a couple of Rooks.

I say he makes the team if the FBs stink the joint up and/or one of the RBs ahead of him get hurt enough to be put on injured reserve.

If he beasts on kick returns he will be on the team.POINT BLANK.

I dont even remember the last time we had a kick returned for a td.Tim Dwight doesnt really know how to play football but he can damn sure return kicks.I hope tyson is that type, just a little less wreckless.

It Thompson contributes in either a KR or RB role, then I don't see how Parcells can not keep him around. Let's face it, look how long Randall Williams was on our team as a "project", and even though Williams was said to have been a contributor on ST, perhaps Thompson will contribute on ST as well.

I think Randall Williams had our last kickoff return(onside kick from Philly) for a TD but I can't remember the one before that. It has been that long.

I'm thinking that Tyson is going to make the team regardless, but I'm optimistic that he's going to show some reasons why on Saturday.

I think it was Woody Dantzler that returned a kick if I remember correctly. IMO, I think we should not carry any FB's or maybe just one and carry 4 RB's. (that's if TT turns out to be a stud)

I don't think he needs to run one back to make the team..tho that could well cement it for him.

He has to show good instinct, some courage, and a taste of breakaway speed..a move or two..on returns. FOLLOW his blockers.

If he gets some actual carries, show heads up play..some vision/ patience..Bill is already rerportedly taken with his speed. He probably won't break any for long gainers, but you can tell a lot about a back, even in his first duty, even against third teamers...cutting, burst, moves...and by all means, don't blow a blitz assignment. :)

And of course, Bill is always looking for sign of heart and character...no helmet tapping even with a broken collar bone, or you'll have to fight that rap too.

I think he's gonna make the final roster.
