All season, the "50s" on the field will be gold. It's supposed to commemorate the 50th year of the Super Bowl.

Not only is this kind of jarring to look at, it's kind of dumb. The NFL didn't originate 50 years ago. That was just the merger of the NFL and AFL.

And come October, we'll have gold 50s with pink shoes and gloves and retrofit bumble-bee jerseys in Pittsburgh......it's a lot to take in.

Not dumb per se, but teams like the Packers and Browns won multiple championships before Super Bowls existed. Guys like Jim Brown, Chuck Bednarik, Y.A. Tittle, Sammy Baugh, Sam Huff, etc, played in the NFL for years.

It makes it sound like football started 50 years ago. And I just don't like the gold 50-yard lines.

The should have just changed the 50's to L's. Though they're not using the L for Superbowl 50, so maybe what I'm saying is stupid. They should just use the L for Superbowl L.

How about just leaving it alone and rolling with a white 50 yard line like every year. I don't need a gold or yellow 50 to let me know about it being 50 years. The 10 million commercials and logos displayed through the football season will be more than enough to remind anyone.

Awareness campaigns equal more money for research. I see pink on gameday, understand its more money for researching breast cancer, and think meh. Now if rainbow colors cause players to stop playing well, I'll have a problem with it.

Actually the pic on the right would bother me. Thankfully from the games I've watched, it's just the numbers that are gold. It doesn't look bad really.
