1. Giants played like crap all night, never looked in synch.
2. Dallas played very well in most aspects of the game, and beat us soundly.
3. Refs were horrid, (that play when Cruz was mauled in the end zone comes to mind) but no excuses, Dallas had their share of crazy and missed calls as well.
4. One thing about Dallas, the new secondary played well, but did not look so amazing. If Giants receivers held on to catchable balls, the game might've looked different. That said, our third string corners look atrocious.
5. DeMarco Murray looks like the real deal.

As a diehard Giants fan, it kills me to say this to you guys, but ..... Congrats.

You guys looked out of sync because of how our defense played. Cruz had 3 drops, none of them were for TD's, maybe a couple 1st downs.

I will definitely take holding Cruz and Nicks under 100 yards COMBINED for Claiborne and Carr's first start together. Then we get Jenkins back next week!

They talk about Eli missing that pass to Hixon, but they dont talk about the fact that our DBs had been banging their WRs all night throwing off their timing or how Eli was under pressure most of the night and rushed the throw a bit (his words).

Those 2 guys are going to get open and make some plays but at the end of the day Dallas made em fight for every yard and when Dallas needed a play Miles stepped up on 1st and 30.

Anyway thanks for stopping by even if your post has some sour grapes, appreciate you manning up to post after a loss.

for the record. That was a rookie playing his first real NFL game that shut your vaunted WR's down...had them on lock. The scary part for you is that he will only get better.

Thanks for the post man, it takes a lot of balls to come here and say that. I know exactly how you feel right now. Some things I will point out from a very honest Cowboys fan.

1. Nicks looked about 60% out there. You could tell his foot was killing him and he was not the normal explosive receiver he has been over the years. He was not too difficult to cover. If he was 100%, he would have been very difficult to deal with.

2. Your secondary was extremely beat up and we took advantage of that. Reminds me of our pathetic secondary last year. If you all don't find a way to fix that you will be in huge trouble this year.

3. The Giants had several dropped balls mainly from Cruz which was shocking. He had a lot riding on his shoulders last night with Nicks being hurt and Hixson.. well, being Hixson. Your 3rd WR just isn't that good. Manningham will be missed on your team.

4. That was a big time hold on Cruz in the end zone but as you mentioned the refs were missing calls from both teams.

5. Although Bennett had a decent game considering he made a good TD catch, that is not the norm for him and he will bring your team many headaches going forward.

Scandrick was getting torched but Cruz kept dropping passes.

With that said if we clean up all the Pre-snap penalties I don't feel like the game is close.

The Giants are a great team but if the Cowboys and Giants play their best ball I think we have the better team now.

Not only Eli missing passes, but passes bouncing off of receivers. When it hits them in the hands, you gotta catch it in the NFL. There were alot of Giants drops.

Also, the Giants looked terrible in that last Pre-season game.

Establishing a rhythm is underrated in the Pre-season. We did that. They didn't.

Refs were not horrid. No guarantee regular refs make that call on Cruz.

Uhhh, We seemed to have had our share of "dropsies" the last few years, too.
Thanks for coming by. will most likely visit your beautiful city around Christmas again this year.

They got it back with the long pass to Hixon. The Giants LT almost horse collared Victor Butler to prevent the sack. No way in hell does Eli get that pass off otherwise. You can see it in the gif thread.

It was one of three BLATANT holds by their LT. Two others occurred during the fourth quarter TD drive by NYG. Twice he had our pass rusher from behind, around the neck. Textbook what we got called for two years ago in Washington to lose the game, but this time the refs looks diametrically opposed to calling holding on the offensive line.

I will not miss Manningham. He was vastly overrated and people first noticed him because of the SB catch. He ran bad routes for years leading to many INT's.

We'll see. Hopefully a fresh start will be good for him. He certainly has the ability.

The thing about Bennett is that the loss will not bother him because he showed the Cowboys what's up and got his.

Sorry 18and1. Bennett looked like this for about three games as a rookie, catching passes he shouldn't scoring TD's then he just disappeared. He will disappoint you sooner rather than later.

The guy is a mental midget. If he wasn't as big as he was or as athletic as he is he would be bagging groceries or sorting trash for a living. He isn't very bright. At all.

On that play where Cruz was held in the end zone(he was), one of the Cowboys rushers(I think it was Butler) got held in the most blatant fashion during his pass rush and it also wasn't called, so meh.

Butler was held for no calls several times in fact, including on the deep ball to Hixon that was completed.

Blatant hold and blatant pick play that gave the Giants a 30-40 yard play. The "contact" by Scandrick was in the 5 yards and the ball was not in the air.

I pretty much agree, except with #3. That miss on Cruz would have ticked me off if I was a Giants fan, but the Cowboys still got 13 penalties called on them to the Giants 4. I really didn't feel like these refs were any worse than the ones were used to seeing.

I appreciate you showing up. Most Giants fans would cower into hiding. I just want to point out a few things that you left out though:

  1. Dallas played a center that we just signed this week against your pass rush and he still held up well.
  2. Dallas had numerous shoot-yourself-in-the-foot penalties but overcame them all. If it wasn't for those penalties, the Cowboys possibly win easier.
  3. We were not 100% healthy either. Witten was limited, Ratliff and Jenkins didn't play.
  4. The refs also missed numerous holding calls against Ware and Butler (like they always do) so the "non-call" against Scandrick on Cruz really has no merit.

Great post from OP....

No excuse making, I like it.

Coming into the game, all the talk was about Dallas' injuries, but the Giants were missing a lot at DT and then at CB. It's hard to cover for that. The DT's definitely got winded at the end and our recievers against a 3,4 or 5 corner is a complete mismatch.

I thought the refs let the holding calls for both teams go.....which is fine if the calls go both ways. Outside of that I don't think the refs were a factor.

This will be a tough rematch.
