At one point he stood a guard up and took him head on. Seemed to be around every tackle and the crazy stat was when he was on the field the defense didn't give up a first down. Against 1st stringers and not backups. Was extremely fast and you can tell knew the play before hand. Was excellent in blitzing between the tackles.

Had a few misses on tackles were he over pursued

Straight line you can see the burst he has and his recognition is top notch.

I think on the change of direction he is tentative which is usual coming off a knee surgery without nerve involvement. He also was wearing the brace and we don't know if he has to have it or if they are being precautionary with it. The brace might restrict his lateral movement somewhat. That ankle was wrapped pretty heavily and was noticeably larger than the other. As he gains more strength and confidence in both his knee and his foot I think it will get better.

To my untrained eye, he had a couple issues shooting the gap and looked a little awkward/choppy trying to change directions. He is very active and had a nice tackle. I am very pleased with his NFL debut and things should only go up from here

He's looks a lot bigger than I thought he looked at Notre Dame. It looks to me like he has a weird lateral movement to his running and he overran a few plays. Hopefully, it was just nerves/rust (no pun intended).

I have thought in a lot of the twitter clips that I have seen him overrun a lot of plays but it is hard to tell on those little clips....far away, not great resolution and can't see full picture. Did appear to overrun a few tonight but I do think it's normal to be tentative give what he is coming back from. I think a little time is all he needs.

They ran a play right at Jaylon. He didnt make the play. Ran right past the ball carrier. Maybe its rust. More likely he still isn't ready enough to change directions quickly.

My reaction is that was a little rusty and at about 85% health. He wasn't the guy we saw at Notre Dame, but he will be by midseason or so. Next year he is going to be an absolute beast once he is 100% healthy.

I think he's mentally still a college player. We have to remember he's a rookie. I'm expecting mental lapses......at this point i'm more concerned with the physical.....and he looks to be fine out there physically.

hes making alot of progress but u can see he just cant make the cut yet. he didnt over run any play, he just doesnt have the ability to cut and change his direction to be effective in that part of the game yet. He knows the def and knows what he's seeing. He just cant make that cut just yet

I've been one earlier in the offseason that didn't notice a limp. But he didn't look real smooth to me tonight. I think his straight line speed is great. He got into the backfield twice tonight.

His lateral movement is not there yet. I think he'll get there. He'll get more confident in the foot....the foot will continue to heal....Very encouraged tonight.

Pretty much the whole job of an ACL. He'll get better at it.

If this were a first round pick with no injury history I'm sure that his performance would be a little disappointing. Explosion is there, change of direction not so much. But I think we do need to keep in perspective how much of a work in progress he still is.
