DEFENSE

- What surprised me and mightily impressed me was the play of the defense early and for most of the game.
Rookie Purdy was harassed so much that his rhythm and confidence was so disruptive.

- But to his credit, despite his rookie-ness, he never turned the ball over (yeh Diggs dropped a sure INT)
But Niners only scored one mere TD all game – mostly all FGs, and not until late in 4th quarter, did McCaffrey do any damage with a TD goal line run,
and a couple of first down catches.

- For most both Deebo and McCaffrey was shut down .. until the defense finally began to fatigue out, worn down and the dam finally broke.

- Our DL front were in Niners backfield, screens were read and disruptive, and early on, held their ground vs run.
We have a downhill defense that plays with the offense leading, ..but we were left on field way too much and it eventually showed.

- From Tampa to San Francisco playoff game- I’m now encouraged about the foundation and further adding/developing it into a special and elite defense.

- Hankins was ballin’. Great late round trade value in mid season
He’s a legit gap stuffer (wiiide body !) who I hope we can return on a 2 year deal. We need a quality backup for him though.
Be nice to FA find or trade late rounders for more vets such as him in offseason.
Very encouraging performance, they actually held up against the run for 3 quarters, matched their physciality and prevented the big yac plays. Agree, Hankins needs to be resigned, thought both Lve/Osa are different players when he is in the game. Really would like to see them use a top pick at the position for the future.

As fans, we have to take out the emotion and disappointment. 49ers were the better team and we needed to have many things go right to beat them, we just came up short.
We needed 120 to 130 yards from the RBs to have a chance. We got 46!

From a 49ers fan point of view: I thought the cowboys came to play. Cowboys made huge strides as a team compared to last year. Cowboys played just as physical as 9ers. 9ers running didn't make an impact until the 4th quarter. Cowboys killed themselves with penalties last year. While penalties were still a factor it was not nearly as bad as last year. Also Cowboys defense was thoroughly impressive. Hats off to the Cowboys. I think your team is close.

I have a question for Cowboy fans:

How was the Cowboys so successful against the Eagles defense during their second game? I am looking at this defense and it is stacked.

Thanks for Sharing, Cowboyny ...

Your thread is a HUGE relief and refreshing break away from all of these vastly overwhelming random Dak threads.. lol

- Confidence from team and fans soared when we finally beat Tom Brady in Tampa.
- Midnight clock has struck and Cinderella story ends

OFFENSE

- Best chance for Cowboys to win this game was for Dak to have another Bucs like great game.
He did not .. had a poor game., once again Niners booted us outta playoff in repeated years.

- 1st INT was on Gallup poor route. 2nd INT was on Dak, forced it into defenders hands.
Almost had another INT for potential TD run back (Greenlaw) He also failed to see a wide open Hilton for a TD but forced
to Lamb, well covered by LB Warner instead - Dak could’ve thrown 4 INTs.

- i'm beginning to wonder if Dak may be in that Kirk Cousin to Derek Carr type range QB, .. a legit starting QB, but may not be an elite QB, one that makes
players better than what they are, and can take the team over the huddle and on verge of SB (ala Joe Burrows )
He has to have super strong surroundings players/coaching, scheme offense and stout defense to have chance at a SB.

- RBs: My other worst fear came to life- a serious injury to Pollard, and we have nuthin else at RB.
- Zeke is just too slow to be a playmaker other than goal-line/shrt yds. Average to below average burst, average receiver
and he’s never been highly elusive. We need a vast upgrade as a backup instead of zeke.
Coaches (ala Kellen) apparently did not trust backup Malik Davis vs blitzes, as he reported was lit up vs the rush...

- WR/TE
Gallup runs some really shoddy routes that create INTs- plus he just has no separation skills in ‘22
I’m not for gambling and banking on him returning to true form in ’23

I’m for getting Both a new-improved No.2 and No.3 WRs.
- Schultz had only TD, but bumbled very late in game with feet catch inbounds and not powering for one more yd for new 1st down.

Maybe I can see a B-tier contract if he agrees. (8 million? ) But not Kelcie, Andrews,
- Imo, Lamb has clearly answered questions as can he be an legit No.1 featured lead WR or is he just a No.2 by nature. Departure of Amari better allowed him that opportunity.
He’s a baller, he has an alpha male mentality, for one so lanky, he is very tough and durable and even swaggers after a big hit-lick.
If we can now get him a legit, reliable No.2 side kick bookend on other side.

OL
I thought OL pass blocked well. Many times Dak had necessary time to survey the field. Nick Bosa was not a factor vs Tyron or Tyler.
McGovern seem to have some problems vs Armstead, but overall the OL was not an problem.
Thought would’ve had chance to revved up run game if not for Pollard injury.
-Really thought the lack of talent at the receiver position will bite them once they played a good defense, which did happen. Full agreement, Lamb is a true #1 WR that this team has lacked since Dak departed, but he needs help. Gallup is completely useless, outside of the scramble drills. He doesn't get any separation and never fights for the football. Brown was better all year long.

-Dak cannot play hero ball and expect positive results, he has to have a balanced attack, not throwing 50 times a game. I understand it was going to be difficult to run, but they still had to try to keep them honest. Moore just got away from it way too early. Keeping Moore as the OC, is a whole another discussion.

-I'm on the fence with keeping Shultz, of coarse it will depend on price, but he and Lamb was pretty much our passing offense.

-Encouraged how the line held up, Tyler in my opinion, has proven himself and should only get better, especially with those penalties. We are going to need to add another left side starter.

-I would hire a new, modern OC, add an explosive receiver and keep both Pollard/Shultz.
