The Eagles had less then 300 yards of total offense and had the ball for 34 minutes. The 3 interceptions and the turnover on downs did the Cowboys in. The Eagles averaged under 4 yards a carry. Different game if Dak played. 11 games to go. The Lions will be tough. I think their offense is better then the Eagles. Goff can actually throw the football.
Lions also have the worst defense in the entire league. They are coming off a bye in which they got shutout, it will be a challenge, but a very winnable game at home.

For some reason Goff always plays well against Dak and the Cowboys. Dak will be rusty and I think the Cowboys will be a little hungover. I love Swift and their tackles. The game is gonna be tough.

Good offense and possibly the worst D in football. Lions I mean.

If you're a Cowboys fan an this loss discouraged you, you're deluded.
Dak missed 6 weeks and we sit at 4-2.

The offensive line from my estimation held up pretty well with a few leaks (one that caused a pic)

Defends didn't stop the run late.but that's where offense comes in to put Pressure on teams.

Defense

-Parsons probably had his worse game as a pro. The read-option is very difficult to defend and he struggled all night. Bad taunting penalty showed his frustration..

I look at that as on Quinn. Too cute. Sort of like the stunts where the middle was wide open for Hurts to run. You’re not fooling anybody. And why try to be cute like that with Parsons once the right tackle is out of the game. Parsons is a beast, who cares if they know what he’s doing, just unleash him against that back up and let someone else take his role out there.

I thought Parsons played well, was definitely all over the place making plays first quarter. Sometimes feels like a one man show he’s so damn fast. And did it all with a groin injury. That’s not easy.

After watching the Steelers beat the Bucs, Packers lose to the Jets and the Ravens lose to the Giants, anything can happen.

Well to be fair Pitts can play Defense and Tampa has been off offensively all year. And the Jets are a talented team on D. I watched that game and was impressed. Zach Wilson is not very good having said that. GB has no WR’s outside of Lazard.

Offense

-When they went down 7-0, Cooper Rush and the offense began to panic. Forcing passes into tight coverage that led to 2 terrible interceptions on their side of the 50. Going for it on their own 30 and not challenging the spot, was a double whammy. Punt the darn football. We gift wrapped a good offense short fields for the entire 1st half.

-You cannot spot a good team on the road 20 points and expect to be successful. Offense couldn't do anything in the first half and probably should of been down even more. Offense was just as bad against the Rams, but this time they weren't bailed out by the defense.

-Offense much better in the 2nd half, but Cooper had another poor interception that should of been a TD. Yes, he may of been hit, but he needs to make that play.

Defense

-Parsons probably had his worse game as a pro. The read-option is very difficult to defend and he struggled all night. Bad taunting penalty showed his frustration.

-Defense needed Hurts to beat them through the air, but they consistently couldn't stop the run. When the offense closed the gap to 3 points, Eagles ran right down their throats and couldn't do anything to stop them.

-You cannot have a terrible penalty in the redzone that results in a TD that Dante Fowler commited. Everyone in the building knew they weren't snapping the ball prior to the end of the quarter, but not Fowler.

Special Teams

Turpin was probably the lone bright spot of the night.

Sky isn't falling, the season is far from over. It's time to get our starting QB back. I think anyone would of taken a 4-2 start at the beginning of the season with a healthy Dak, 4-2 with Cooper Rush starting 5 out of the 6 games saved our season. I thought we were going to split of series with the Eagles this year, just win the next matchup and we will be in the race come season end.

DEFENSE

- I don’t get Quinn.. why have our best and biggest impact pass rusher in coverage.. for sake of " spying' Hurts ?
Plus he’s still recovering from a groin injury and we have to straining and running with TEs, backs and WR instead of terrorizing in the backfield ?

Plays right into Philly’s hands. if i'm philly ,’d take Parsons in coverage as much as possible vs rushing in backfield.
Get Wilson, LVE or Kearse to do that “ spying” instead of Parsons.. !

- Philly TE Dallas Gobert did not do much, pretty much shut him down, but our Brown (Anthony) vs Philly’s WR Brown (AJ) presented issues, and Devontae Smith was wiiide open for his
twirling TD.... Busted coverage! Supposedly it was said to be Donovan Wilson's breakdown.

- Fowler untimely dreadful offsides, and he tends to get a flag per game … and did Sam Williams get yet another flag per game ?

- Hurts did not hurt as much vs run per a couple of scrambles and sneaks, but he came up with impact passes to Devontae, AJ Brown .. like it or not he has improved as a passer.
- we cannot stop teams vs run when we need to. Philly pulled off a pull away TD drive that saw 11 str8 carries, and several 1st down sustains to make it 26-17.

- Run defense issues still exists, especially vs teams best equipped for it, Cowboys fans

- Gholston (vs run) , Osa, DLaw, Armstrong and Fowler had some spot plays vs pass, pursuit early in the game but i thought it wore down and faltered when we needed them to step
up in the deciding moments and situation of the game.

- LVE nor Barr did not show up in this game and forget Cox as a future player. Was he even game active.

- Just not the biggest Jordan Lewis fan. Average guy, imo.
- No turnovers for the defense.

OFFENSE

- Kellen really does not know how to spring Pollard – no edge rushes or misdirection sweeps , no quick RB screens, quick swing flairs, he’ll always be so limited under KMoore
- Zeke got most reps, with his rushing, blocking, he ran the hard churning, dirty yards, and found the end zone on a right- timing middle run TD.

- TE Ferguson added a nifty TD catch,…. but what’s with Hendershot where he has a penalty in every single game ? Geeeez !
But overall we seem to be getting more efficient in-line blocking with two rookies than what we were with Schultz.

- Rush never got sacked, but he was uncomfortable vs Philly pass rush. He did not get away with floating passes over the middle, and cannot squeeze tight passes in windows,
was late and ‘float-ducky “ on too many passes. But despite his 3 INTs, he did somehow bring us back from 17-0, to cutting it down to 20-17, before our defense faltered to 26-17.

- Tyler had the one pressure vs Brian Graham that cost a fluttered INT- McGovern allowed a Hasson Rick pressure – and between McGovern and Biadasz, we had to resort to
Otherwise we had some run success vs Philly’s front seven.

- Gallup isn’t right yet. seems lumbering and laboring as a result of still ACL recovering, may explain a lack of separation. Could take entire year in regaining previous form.
I’m just not a rah-rah Lamb fan, I think he could product of a system, than him being one of the leagues more dynamic players.
But we should see him at top of his game once Dak returns.

- Noah almost came up with a spectacular circus catch for a TD. He’s not a big separation guy but he tends to make some contested catches, and he's playing thru pain too,
- Addition of Philly CB Bradberry was evident, and he got his hands on several thrown balls. Slay was his factoring self too.
We had to resort to double teaming rookie Jordan Davis and McGovern began to have his issues late in game with Rush being harassed and pressured.

I came away with mostly the same thoughts. I don't know that Parsons was that bad. The Eagles were clearly putting him in no win situations. The Cowboys needed to come up with something to counter that. Parsons cannot take on two guys running in opposite directions. The Cowboys needed to get another guy out there to help him some how. Still Parsons made some nice plays. The Cowboys better find an answer for this because the rest of the league will copy this game plan to stifle Parsons.

The Eagles won the coaching battle. They clearly had the better schemes on offense and defense. They were well prepared for Dallas and outsmarted them most of the game. You could see the Cowboys defense in the first half hesitate a lot for fear of Hurts running with the football. It allowed the Eagles RBs an extra tick to get yards after hitting the hole. If the Cowboys had watched the Eagles play the Cardinals last week they would have seen everything the Eagles did against Dallas. The RPOs, the quick short passes, the whole works. I was surprised the way the defense approached the Eagles offense.

But one thing was obvious, the Eagles were not going to ask Hurts to throw many deep passes. Everything was under 10 yards. Yet Dallas's corners were playing 10 yards off the receivers most of the time. In the first half they gave the Eagles a lot of easy yards on quick passes with no defenders around

I thought the refs did the Eagles a lot of favors. From the spot of the ball short of the fist down in the first half that should have been challenged, to the lack of offensive holding penalties the entire game, the Eagles got the breaks from the refs. I saw 5 or 6 obvious holding penalties on the Eagles offensive line that were not called and I mean the kind of holding that was out in the open in front of the refs not the ones that happen in the trenches all the time.

Speaking of the 4th down that should have been challenged, that entire sequence was a disaster. Instead of rushing to the line and going for the first down they should have slowed it down, unless they were going to draw the Eagles offsides. Then to throw that pass when they needed only a few inches was a bad call too. But the point is they should have taken their time on such an important play. We can fault McCarthy, but what about the guys up in the booth. They had television replay and better angles to see the play. Why didn't they call down and tell McCarthy to hold off on the next play?

The way to stop that scrum play the Eagles use in short yardage situations is to not allow 8 or 9 yards on first down.

LVE had two games. One where he was slow and stupid and the other where he was aggressive. The bad LVE played most of the first half. The good LVE played most of the 2nd half. He needs to get the good LVE on the field all the time.

Barr is useless to me. I think he had one good game this year. Otherwise I am not sure how he helps this defense. I think they should start splitting time between Barr and Cox and see if Cox is any better. In general I would like to see the Cowboys LBs be more aggressive.

Rush threw two bad interceptions in the first half. With the first one, I thought the coverage was there and Rush tried to force it in. Gallup needed to use his body to shield the defender from the ball, but Bradberry ran through Gallup. It was close to pass interference I thought. The second one was just a very bad decision because the receiver was blanketed. The third INT he threw was not really his fault. He got hit as he was following through so it took some momentum off the throw where was off target and under thrown. You have to blame that one on Tyler Smith who did a really bad job in the 4th quarter in pass protection. It was the first time this year I missed Tyron Smith.

The Cowboys had too many really stupid penalties. The offsides on 4th down was awful, but so was the taunting penalty on Parsons. And the Unsportsmanlike conduct call on Diggs and the same call on Osa, although I thought they should have called that on Kelce too because he clearly hit Osa after the play was dead. Joseph got called for a personal foul and they never said what it was. Does anyone know what he did?

Finally, the Cowboys fell into a deep hole in the first half. Getting down 20-3 was huge with Rush at QB. The Cowboys don't score that many points with Rush.

Anyway, give credit to the Eagles. Their secondary is really good. So is their running game which is predicated on the threat of Hurts running.

Coaching

Going for it on 4th down with a backup QB, vs a top team, top defense on our side is gutsy, perhaps McCarthy wanted established aggressiveness, go for throat early for momentum, ..
If we did make it, no complaints, eh?

- It’s the non-challenge flag with Lamb when we really needed sustain drive that was a killer- something in the coaches’ control.

- For all his faults ,kudos for Kellen for staying with the run game, instead of going pass happy with Rush - but if that was Dak ? .. Pass happy ?
But we got back into the game ..with staying to the run game- and the run game having some success.

- I still think we have discipline issues in all areas- offense, defense, special teams, We’re not a smart team - Parsons taunting ?
Illegal in the back blocking, (Pollard got away with one)

- Joseph is supposed to be a captain of special teams yet he is also that is getting untimely flags as well.
- and all of the in game and post game fighting ?

-Hendershot is a rookie who hasn't played a ton of snaps, he needs to play cleaner or McKeon will surpass him on the depth chart.
-I still feel we need another receiver who can threaten the defense with over the top speed, Eagles were just sitting on the short passes. Anderson from Carolina would make a ton of sense.
-All and all OL held up, but I need to see them with Dak and he will hold onto the football much longer then Rush.

-Hopefully Quinn will learn from this game how to defend the Eagles better next time.
-Still see a shaky QB when asked to drop back and pass, but if you cannot contain their run, doesn't matter.
-Throughout the season, outside runs have given this D trouble, saw more interior runs. I think stopping the run is more scheme based then our personnel. Quinn does a ton of stunts/twists that sometimes get players out of position to run defend. Linebackers were decent, but need to play better.
-Fowler drives you nuts, but he is good edge rusher.

Bad turnovers and penalties killed us. Defense gave up some plays but they were put in a terrible hole so hard to blame them too much.

Get Dak back and think we'll be fine rest of season and will play them much better next go round.

Skippy? Trolling? You lose the debate when you have to resort to childish name calling.

1st half play type breakdown for Dallas:

rushes: 9 (44 yards for 4.89 ypr average)
passes: 16

3rd down plays: failed rush 3rd and 2, incomplete pass 3rd and 4, completed 8 yard pass on 3rd and 9 (incomplete pass on 4th and 1 followed), INT on 3rd and 9, 9 yard rush on 3rd and 1, incomplete pass on 3rd and 10 1 of 6 on 3rd downs which saw 5 failed attempts due to passes

You can't claim Dak would have made a difference because you simply do not know that for a fact. However, the fact is the Dallas rushing game was effective but for whatever stupid reason the coaches went with a pass heavy approach and it cost them by way of a 20-3 1st half deficit.

Dallas would run a more balanced offense their 2 drives to start the 2nd half and they scored TD's on both drives closing the gap to 20-17.....then Philly ran the Dallas defense into the ground for the game sealing TD before seeing Rush throw his 3rd INT and Dallas making a dumb call to try a 59-yard FG attempt with 1:08 remaining on 4th down and down 26-17 instead of going for it.

So while so many want to point to Rush for losing the game, how about pointing to the failed defense in the 4th quarter, the numerous stupid coaches decisions including Moore's pass happy 1st half game plan with what many say is a weak armed back-up QB, and countless dumb penalties.
good post,
You can't claim Dak would have made a difference because you simply do not know that for a fact.........yes but they all will think that lol. Heck it might have
been worse??
Thing is if dak had played and lost people would say should have stuck with rush, and as it was people will say should have gone with dak, or dak could have
won the game.

Even without the 3 ints, I think phil would have won the game , more motivated, way better coaching, better game plans.
If dallas scored more , then they would have scored more.
Phil all season wins 1st half then uses 2nd half to just keep the lead, more conservative. They have dominated 2nd qrt on all games.
They are right now the best team in nfl, may not keep it going, but they might.
So rush got beat by best team in nfl and one of the best defenses at their house, so 26-17 wasnt bad, especially considering mike not
challenging that 1st down, that was bizarre , is he afraid of losing a TO in the first half ????:rolleyes::facepalm:
then he compounded that mistake by going for it, and him and kellen ran a awful play, I was expecting a run to the left side, it was ony about 12 inches to go lol.
or hey a qb sneak ! remember those ???? guess mike/kellen doesnt like sneaks lol.

that was a pivotal play and all on coaches.
