Just wondering what the gamers thought about this year's version. I was disappointed that Hatcher wasn't on the roster. I want to put Ellis at OLB but there is not enough DE's on the roster.

same as the year before and the year before that and the year before that

cartoonish graphics and unrealistic gameplay with a twist.

Yeah I don't like Madden at all. THis is the first year ever that I simply cant get into it. The gameplay is terrible and with the potential the 360 holds, the graphics arent all that impressve. While Hatcher is in the game for the 360, Watkins is in the free agent pool, the ratings are terrble, WHICH YOU CANNOT EDIT. I wanted to switch Ellis to DE but you can't edit players ratings or positions. And Madden cannot rate players worth a shyt. Fabini is rated like a 90, Rivera a 90, and then the likes of TNew gets an 87, Crayton a 76, Ware an 86, James an 84, and others. There are just too many glaring holes in this years game for me to like it. I knew this would happen when they bought the rights to the NFL. EA was already a lazy company, and now with no competition, its even worse.

I have the XBOX 360 version, and hatcher is on the roster, the only draft picks not on the roster are watkins, mcquistan, and whitley. However, Watkins is on the free agent roster that you can sign guys from, which doesn't make since.

Only thing i don't like is you cannot edit the players like on other versions, like you can't change their position or even their jersey number.

Exactly, the game really hasn't changed much at all the past 3 years. 05, 06, and 07 are nearly identical games.

It's meh. I'm warming up, since I've got my unrealistic expetations under control.

If you want Ellis at OLB, put him in substitution packages for 3-4 over and strong. Otherwise, keep Carpenter or Singleton any time you even thnk you might be in pass defense.

Watkins is in the FA pool.

The blocking feature is ok, but getts old rapidly. And I can't stop anyone's pass game, which is unfortunate. I think there;s a glitch in the game that causes Anthony Henry to have perfect position when the pass is thrown, and then bail 5 yards back to the LOS as it approaches. It's maddening, and he blows in the game.

I haven't hooked the internet conection up yet. So, we'll se about that. Training camp is still the same old piece of crap.

But definitely, everyone do the substitutions. Bring OLBs like Burnett and Carpenter and Ware in on the nickel and dime pacages, as DEs.Greg Ellis and Spears or Feguson can play DT )which works better than Fergie and Stanley)

Isn't it weird that Stanley is in the game, but Hatcher is not?

hmm good idea with the substitutions...although i really wish i could edit the players rankings.....can you edit them with the xbox or ps2?

Maybe, but I don't know how. The substitutons work well.My base 3-4 is Canty, Ferg, Spears - Ware, akin, Bradie, Carp

Then I sub in Greg for running plays for Carp. In the nickel I have Spears and Fergy inside, and Carp and Ware outside. Same for the dime. Sometimes I rotate in Burnett for Carp in the nickel. They both get significant ratings boosts when you play them at DE.

This is the best version of Madden yet, but I play on the PC (with a beefy computer) so I can use the 3rd party editors to change positions, etc.

i like the new RB controls with the highlight stick and the lead blocking control, but other than that, its the same exact game as last year with a few improvements. i think its gonna be time to upgrade to the xbox 360 next season.

I'm telling you its not just the Xbox version that sucks, I have the 360 version and it isnt any good either. Overall the game just isnt very good. Plain and simple.

I'm having a pretty good time with it (360 version). There will be a live update for the rosters before the season starts. Texas Stadium at 1pm looks incredible, the shadows are perfect. Night games don't look as good for some reason though. I don't know how people are saying its too hard to defend the pass. I had to turn do INT's to zero because Henry and Newman were getting way too many. The blocking feature is new and innovative. I don't think I could ever go back to current gen.

I beg to differ the nay sayers, I am really enjoying this game. Luv the blocking feature. So cool. Yes the game isn' perfect but for the only NFL game in town, I am really enjoying it. Though the damn star is too big on the side of the helmets. hehe :p:

I thought the star might be a little too big. Also, our pants are grey at home instead of light blue. Everything else is pretty amazing though. TO runs and looks like TO. I can't run the ball because of my line but can light up the passing with Gleen, Witten, and company so it seems kinda realistic.
