Thoughts about the game

My first thought is Jerry Jones has given JG everything he would need to win with this team. Sure there some depth issues but its the same with every team in the NFL. Nobody could convince me that Belichek couldn't win a Superbowl with this team. Garrett is a garbage HC and that's putting it nicely.

Ive been a little hard on romo lately and I'm not changing my stance. He makes a lot of bad choices with the ball but when he takes the call out of the coaching staffs hand the guys is flawless. Like we saw at the end of the game. That last drive was a thing of beauty. So is it room or is the Garrett/Room marriage just a divorce waiting to happen.

I don't like this Murrays ability to stay healthy. But to only give him 5 carries? Especially when he had a 6 yrd avg early that's just stupidity that all goes back to the coaches.

How is Dez not being the primary target? I know teams double the guy but he's shown over and over in his career he can beat that double with regularity.

Marinelli is doing an amazing job with this DL. If Garrett had his coaching ability the guy would've been a Superbowl coach by now. I wish Jerry would just fired Garrett and go with the guy the team responds to.

This def is giving up a ton of yards but it has a lot to do with this offenses ability to create time consuming drives. Too many 3and outs that put the def back out on the field. A def with limited depth is going to tired with a off that constantly puts them back out on the field after a 3 and out. Dallas already has 21 takeaways after only getting 16 all last yr.

We saw what life would be like without carter. A lot of average Ernie sims

My thoughts for this season are.

1. Romo is not the problem this time
2. The defense sucks
3. JG and everyone except Marinelli need to be gone next season.
4. WILL THEY FINALLY DRAFT AND ACTUAL RUNNING BACK?

I hope we get to see a season sometime where Garrett isn't part of the equation. Like you said, when Romo is making the calls, it tends to go much better.

Dez was thrown the ball a ton yesterday*, but unfortunately, Dez had his share of drops or he could have easily been over 100 yards.

*11 targets, most on the team

demarco is a good runningback he is just having issue staying healthy... just like Peterson, Foster, Lacy, Mcfadden, and about every other running back in the league. If anything the team needs to cut all the backups and run a two headed monster like houston.

Hmm.. well any cheerleader that averages 5 yards a carry can be my starting RB anyday.

Don't underestimate the athleticism of those cheer leaders man, just because they have Pom poms doesn't mean they can't play physical football. ;)

I sweated more than Josh Brent at a pre-trial hearing.
Wondered why the offense was sluggish. Wondering how long our defense could hold up.
Wondered if Romo, had, again, bro,en my heart when he thew that pick.

But redemption was in order.
I will take the win and hope this will get us futher away from mediocrity that dog us like flies on an orange crush can in the trash.

What is DeMarco Murray, if not an actual RB?

Not one that can be counted on. But, even if they had one that could be.. These coaches wouldn't use them. They don't use Murray enough at all. But, I think that is because 1. he is prone to injury and 2. The coaches obsess with the passing game.

1. Don't think Belichek wins a SB with this team. NO WAY. He has Brady and he hasn't won in the past how many years now?!
2. RB is a much smaller issue than the OL. Give me a good OL and suddenly RB and QB will look great. Just look around the league.
3. Please draft OL and DL. This team lose because of them.
4. Romo makes occasional dumb decisions but overall he has not been the problem of this team.

Totally agree about Romo. This coaching staff is hindering his progress on being himself. If Garrett and his playbook is removed from the equation I believe that Romo will really light it up. Too bad his entire career is diminished by terrible playcalling and a philosophy that doesn't use our talents to the best of our abilities.

I think the Cowboys have more than their share of injuries season after season, almost always coming at one or two positions that are already thin. Anyone have statistics to check this out? I think the Cowboys have too much of their salary cap invested in a few, aging stars and need to invest more evenly in younger players even at unglamorous positions like OG, DT, DE, and S. They need some depth at every position. I think that JJ is an outstanding sports businessman but, like Al Davis before him, a lousy owner/GM.

As a Cowboys fan since 1960, I think I'm tired of the parity and mediocrity throughout most of the NFL into which the Cowboys have sunk. I think, as a football fan since 1956, that football has become a spectacle of offense and individual stars and is becoming less and less interesting. I blame TV and the NFL, even though both have entertained me so well for almost 60 years.

if Romo was indeed the sole orchestrator of that final drive, he is going to make a hell of an off. coordinator some day

I think this team is inconsistent. Defense can make big plays as we did on a number of occations but then it is like they vanish on a series. Face it without some big plays by the defense we likely do not win.

Same with offense at times we can move the ball pretty easy but then you have a dropped pass and instead of 1st and 10 you are punting. Team really looked up and down all day long.

Well, in a game where the QB had 50+ attempts, clearly Dez should've gotten half of them. Forget about the rest of the offense.
We need a name for it, like the "Randy Ratio." Hmm, the "Dez Division"? The "Bryant Balance"? There's got to be a catchy slogan in there somewhere.
