Sorry this is not WWF, they tried? hell they could have ruled Lamb catch as incomplete.
They made our kicker kick a 60-yard field goal twice when they could have given a ruling during the time out or before the kicking team went on the field.

I was waiting to see if someone was going to hit him with a chair before he kicked the 60yrder for the second time.

Yes, the Giants are really banged up, but Green Bay was too. Point is, you cannot take any team lightly, especially a divisional opponent at home.

Offense

-Giant's strength within their defense is their DL. Leonard Williams who missed the 1st matchup is back. Dexter Lawrence is one of the best NT's in the entire league. Pass rush is average at best outside of these 2. Their prized rookie flashes, but is developing. Running inside the tackles might be tough sledding, but teams have had some success doing so.

-Their linebackers are average and they have injuries across the board in their secondary. This might be the game to air it out and take advantage of the matchups. However, their DC blitzes more then any other team, they have success on third and distances cause of his exotic pressure packages. Cowboys need to avoid these situations, but Dak has a strong track record when teams come after him.

-Giants offense struggles putting up points, they cannot win many games in the 30's and not winning the turnover battle. Force them to play catch up and they will struggle.

Defense

-Playing the Giants is all about containing both Barkley and Jones on the ground. Detroit play press/man coverage across the board and everyone else inside the box. This was very successful. However, it led to some big QB runs by Jones. He is more athletic then many think and a spy needs to be on him. Expect to see many read options and a heavy dose of their run game.

-Slaton is the only real receiver to worry about, along with Barkley out of the backfield. Slaton has the speed to blow the top off a defense and is Jones most trusted receiver. He is the one player to key on in the passing game.

Special Teams

-They benched their punt returner due to fumbles and now he is back due to injury of Jackson their starting corner.
• Tough road loss to the Seahawks in a nip-and-tuck game that got away from them in the last quarter.
• Uninspired home win over the lowly Texans... doing just enough to keep Houston at bay most of the game
• Laid an egg when the Lions roared into Metlife and sucked the life out of the crowd and their team for the first three quarters.
Me thinks the Cowboys release a steady salvo that will continue the sinking of the Gmen ship.

They do have a back who can take over a game.

In order for that to happen a team has to be able to go to "Plan B", like in the 90's if teams bottled up Emmitt then Dallas could go to Irvin, Harper, Novacek, etc.

Giants don't have that firepower in the passing game. They're no slouch, but they're limited. And Jones has to contend with the Dallas pass rush, first in the league in sacks, if memory serves.

Let Barkley go for 150 yards, just make him have to rush 35 times to get it....

I think lesson learned. I said it before the GB game, that it was a trap game with cowboys not taking them seriously and looking ahead and it cost us. our talent kept us close, but in the end, we were very undisciplined defensively as panic set in. we settled down and played great against Vikings. so I hope and I think they learned their lesson and won't take this game for granted and will come out to play hard and probably win big.

And let this be a word of caution for those who think the Gnats will be a easy foe. It's a NFC East divisional game and they always get up for us.
Do they? We beat them fairly comfortably in their house with our backup QB earlier this season. 44-20 and 21-6 last year. 35-17 and 37-18 in 2019 (I pretend 2020 never happened). I'm not a big believer in the whole "divisional games are different" thing. The teams know each other a little better, so I can believe there's a little bit of increased competitiveness just from familiarity. But I don't know that there are a lot more upsets in divisional games than in other games.

At the end of the day if Dallas is the team that we want them to be than this game should be blood in the water for us. Dallas is highly superior at this point, we need to show it to put everyone on freaking notice. Tired of being a pansy azz team. Should win by at least 14…

Best way to make the playoffs is win your division. Takes only 6 wins to sweep the division, that alone pumps up division rivals.

Over the years I've lost count of games that Dallas should have easily won against division foes but lost. I recall a 14-13 Washington win when Dallas was rolling over just about everybody. It's not just familiarity, it's long-seated rivalries that make division games so intense. Not to mention just the overall hatred of the Dallas Cowboys as "America's Team".

You should NEVER take division games lightly, it's the best way to get your head handed to you on a platter.....

Perhaps the league thought his second kick might get blocked and give the Vikings a chance to score some points before the half. Hence the odd timing of the review and the fact that the catch was confirmed.

The Giants are bigger frauds than the Vikings. For one, the Giants aren’t even from New York. This game should show which Dallas game was the anomaly, the Packers game where Dallas was 200-0 (rounding up) when leading by 14 going into the fourth or the Vikings game where they just flat out destroyed a seeming good team.

You should never take any game lightly. I mean, you and I can take them lightly, since that has no impact whatsoever on the result. But for every big divisional upset, I can point to ten games where the better team just rolled the other (like most recent games against the Giants). I mean, you're making an argument about why division games are more likely to end in upsets than other games, but I've never seen evidence that they actually do, so I'm skeptical.

Good write up. I feel if we contain Barkley and Jones on the ground then we'll win. I like your idea of airing it out early. If we build a lead then that'll take away their running game and then we're set. Barkley and Jones do scare me tho. We're going have to play strong run defense like we did against the Vikings.

Yes, they are going to have to get better against the run, this is the next challenge

Barkley is a game wrecker and must be the focus on every snap

Not sure they laid an egg last week, the Lions are much better then their record

I can't say how many div upsets have happened but they happen. I feel div games are more intense no matter the foe and no matter the records. They do in fact know each other better than non div teams. I think we win, but having said that I don't feel like it will look as easy as the Minny game did. Of course we each have different views on this matter which I applaud, and similar views as well.

Quinn needs to convince the DL to not play hero ball this week, more than any other game, and just be patient and sound defending the run. Expect NYG to play an ultra conservative game to bleed the clock.

Offensively just don't allow Leonard Williams to wreck the game. No silly turnovers.
The ONLY player on our O-line Williams might be better than is Biadasz. Our O-line bulldozes their D-line all day long.

Upsets happen in division and out of division. I honestly have no idea if they happen in division more often or not.

I also expect it to look tougher than the Vikings game, if only because it would be impossible for a game to look easier.

Jones had some big runs against us last time we played them.
Need to cut those out.
I think we spyed him and he still ate our lunch.
He’s done that all year
He’s the best runner on their team lol
It’s a division game so it will be tough but I’ve heard all year from the pundits about how good they are and I just don’t see it
Jones has grown as a QB for sure. He took a pounding the last time we played them and he still kept playing
Keep him from hurting you with his legs is really important
