Thoughts about this weekend's games

-If your a Bills fans you have to been sick to your stomach. What in the world is their ST's and DC doing? 13 seconds and you give up a FG, awful. The D also quit afterwards.

-Sunday games weren't so much about great QB play as many will claim, it's more about terrible defense. Rams scored a TD on 3rd and 20 I believe, Chiefs 4th and 13 they have a blown coverage and what in the world was that Bills prevent defense. Last drive in the Buc game, how do you get beat over the top in tie game?

-Saturday's game was the complete opposite, where we actually saw good defensive play and very questionable offenses. The only way you lose a game after 9 sacks is if you beat yourselves, which the Titans did. The Titans controlled the game, at worse they go to OT, but their QB forces a pass and sets up a game winning FG.

-Why is the great Rodgers getting another pass by the media? 2nd yr in the row they have the home field advantage and he lays another egg. 10 points, especially after you score a TD on your opening drive, won't get it done against any opponent.

-Both Packers, Tampa Bay were SB or bust teams who have to spend the offseason begging their QB's to stay or not retire. It is quite possible, both teams are outside looking in next season, however, cannot see either retiring after their performance over the weekend. Rodgers playing for his hometown 49ers could be scary.

I like the Chiefs to move past the Bengals and think the Rams finally find a way to beat the 49ers.

By the way, the Chiefs were able to rebuild their OL in just 1 offseason, think we can do the same!

My thoughts.

Every QB playing right now is a 1st rounder besides Jimmy G (2nd rounder).

It's time to stop playing around with these undrafted/late round picks and draft an actual 1st round talent at QB.

Also, defense isn't going to win you championships. A defense carrying a QB to a Super Bowl win is rare.. Elite QBs are going to win you championships.

QB's have to deliver (they have the ball in the hands on every snap), and they are the single difference-maker in winning or losing -- arm talent, footwork, accuracy, mental toughness, dealing with pressure, ability to convert 3rd downs, avoiding crucial mistakes/fumbles/interceptions, & moving the team to scoring opportunities.

Especially, Burrow , Allen, and Stafford performed very well on the road.

We have seen many teams win with defense as well, Giants beat that great Patriots team, TB even last season who during the playoffs more due to their defense.

Tom Brady is an elite QB, so yes, the Tampa defense was great, but they still had Tom Brady at QB.

Eli was the MVP of both of those Giants Super Bowls wins. He may not be an elite QB, but he played elite and clutch when it mattered.

You're not going to find many Trent Dilfers or Brad Johnsons ever. If Jimmy G would have played better in the Super Bowl the 49ers would have beat the Chiefs that year, but he didn't. His play was the reason the 49ers lost that game.

Our only chance to compete with these teams is we have to make our defense elite. We need an elite defensive tackle, a good free safety, and good off ball linebacker to go along with keeping Gregory, DLaw and Kearse. I am starting to get behind the idea of moving Collins to guard but we need to become a run first offense that limits turnovers. The team will be boring but we would have a chance to win some playoff games.
