Actually, I underestimated it....
We had SEVEN 3rd down conversions via the pass.

1) 3rd and 7..Romo to Witten for 13 yards
2) 3rd and 2...Romo to Bryant for 12
3) 3rd and 4...Romo to Bryant...pass interference for 1st down
4) 3rd and 15...Romo to Bryant for 18
5) 3rd and 2...Romo to Bryant for Touchdown
6) 3rd and 7...Romo to Beasley for 10
7) 3rd and 4...Romo to Bryant for 5

After that, the rest of the conversions were via the run game.

That's great!

Now that I think of it those six 3rd down conversions were by half time when I was looking.

I'm certain Romo will be back to ideal form by weeks 4-5.

As badly as we need to find our next QB I wouldn't have picked Manziel, way too many red flags. I would rather we found a prototypical pocket QB with a strong, accurate arm. Give me a Phillip Rivers/ Andrew Luck type QB and I'll be happy!

What are exactly Manziels red flags?

What are exactly Manziels red flags?

the obvious red flags:
height / weight/ durability
arm strength
behavioral problems

It's possible he could overcome those physical limitations ala Drew Brees, but most guys cannot, ,,, and Brees doesn't run around like RGIII.

Height/ Weight/ Durability - Drew Brees had these same "red flags"
Arm Strength - Joe Montana and Peyton Manning had this "red flag"
Behavioral problems - what has he done? He went to las vegas for his birthday?

Can he atleast play or finish a season in the NFL before you label him? Or atleast get in trouble before you say he's a behavioral problem?

lol,,, nice job at minimizing and over-simplying,,, and there's a difference between red flags and actual labeling.

Romo will never be the same again. He's had what, 3 back procedures in a short time span? Those are nothing to scuff at. The main thing missing is being able to extend plays and escape. Yesterday, he was drug down by a DE easily. In the past, he easily gets away from that. That is what he brought to the table. That was his best asset. He will not be that effective as a pure pocket passer. That's not who he is.

He has a 65% career completion percentage, you telling me he did all that outside of the pocket?

Romo is a fine pocket passer, he extended plays outside of the pocket when he had too.

Will his back hold up, we will see but if it does he will do fine from the pocket.
