Its a shame we got full T.O. attitude, but 75% production. What happend to the guy that scared defenders in the open field? The version we got constantly ducked out of bounds like he was Marvin Harrison.

Flozell barely got a hand on his guy far too often. Romos good enough to beat one free rusher, but more than that it gets ugly. This guy might destroy our season.

Marty B might be best just getting the ball in his hands.

No one seems prepared for Felix Jones' acceleration. An inside/outside option attack w/ Barber and Felix could be deadly.

The End........?

I too fear that the end is not near, it's here for Flozell. I know it's an exhibition, but my mind just keeps going back to the Pro Bowl. You also make the argument that pass rushers there are the elite in the league, but Flo was getting turnstiled something awful at both left and right tackle in the most vanilla of games defensively. I know the company line on Flo is that he was hurt and playing beside Cory Procter a lot, but I until I see him play better than he did last year, my confidence in him won't be too high.

T.O.'s quickness is shot, which made it difficult for him to beat the jam... but his straight-line speed and ability to break arm tackles still makes him a beast in the open field.

Garrett did a piss-poor job in getting T.O. free releases off the line. In 2007, T.O. was constantly in motion or moving around pre-snap... in 2008, for most of the year, T.O. was inexplicably stationary pre-snap. I will never understand why Garrett went away from what was working, what defenses had absolutely no answer for in 2007.

Re-watch the San Francisco game if you still question what T.O. can do when he gets a free release off the line.

 at anyone who would still dare question what Mr. Owens is capable of on the football field.

I hate to tell you this Nav, but Mike Singletary HIMSELF said that they decided not to double T.O. like everybody else had been doing with great success. He felt that Clements should've been able to handle him 1-on-1. What he forgot though was that San Fran doesn't have the greatest pass rush, which gave Romo tons of time to find a wide open T.O. But, his great day had nothing to do with something different that Garrett was doing that day.

T.O., unlike Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson (to name a few), can't beat the double teams anymore. Period.

This is really inexplicable. About the only difference is 07 was with Sparano helping Garrett an 08 was without Sparano. Still, it doesn't make sense. A smart guy like Garrett should have seen what worked and continued to exploit it. Very strange indeed.

[broken] Flo was injured, stop judging a hurt guy as though he wasn't hurt[\record]

this is the biggest pile of horse dung people keep throwing around, Sparano was the friggin o-line coach, maybe he helped in the running game, but he didn't do jack all with the passing game, most o-line coaches don't even like to pass the ball.

if sparano didn't have a good season as a head coach no one would have ever even brought this up. It's pretty stupid regardless.

Then what caused the lack of offensive creativity in 08 vs 07 in your opinion?

team was effective till the injuries

so I tend to think the injuries caused the lionshare of the issues.

no reason to make it more complicated just because we can.

Injuries would explain things like why Romo was getting creamed, why our punter stunk, or why our defense was afraid to play bump and run coverage with the corners, but how would that explain TO not getting moved around in the offense?

TO isn't quite as quick as he used to be so you've really got to be creative with how to get him a free release. If you can't get him a free release he'll not do well. I actually expect him to rebound and have a Pro Bowl type of season in Buffalo this year because of how much of a scare Evans is, on the other side, with his speed. I think that will really help TO.

Flo played almost the entire season hurt. He barely lift one of his arms for a majority of the season. The fact that he kept playing, despite not being better than 60-70 percent, is a direct testament to just how bad our backups at LT are. They weren't even going to be better options than a one armed man.

Marty B I believe will get loads of oppurtunities this season, in the open field, and will prove to be quite dangerous. I really like the ability of this kid.

Barber, Jones, Choice is going to provide a very powerful three pronged running attack. I like what we have there.

offensive injuries affect every offensive player on the field.

you can't get cute with mid-level talent on the field, how many of our other receivers was dinged up?

One hurt guy can cause a ton of adjustments for all the other guys still playing.

saying that garrett is the reason is tunnel vision, sure he shares some of the blame, but like I said the injuries are the catalyst for a ton of perceived problems.

In our first three games against Cleveland, Philly, and Green Bay (which I attended), we certainly didn't have any problems moving the ball or putting up points. I do agree that we called a crappy offensive game against the Skins by not allowing Felix to touch the ball ONE time, but then the injuries came and we went downhill. Hard to argue this fact.

Show me where I said it had something to do with Garrett.

I never did.

I said that game shows what he's capable of with a free release off the line.

Which is what he got because San Francisco chose not to keep a safety over the top at all times, like most teams had been doing (while jamming him with a CB).

I already alluded to the fact that T.O. can't beat double teams anymore. I said that his quickness is shot, which leads to teams easily being able to neutralize him by jamming him at the line and keeping a safety over the top.

It wasn't a lack of creativity. Penalties, TO differential, and mental errors put the offense in a lot of low-percentage situations last year. Fans don't understand the impact on drives of +/- 10 yards of field position, or the difference in the conversion rate for 1st and 10 v. 2nd and 15.

So the Ravens game is coming up. And say what you want about Romo taking too many chances, he showed a lot of toughness in this one, especially late.

He got killed all game and still should have pulled it out

No kidding, it was a jailbreak blitz on Romo on every passing down, or so it seemed.
