Thoughts/observations about today's blowout loss

I’m perfectly fine with not trying to block a punt again this season. One time it worked for us but the other two resulted in a penalty and first down and a touch and a first down for the other team. Both times cost us points and huge momentum swings.
Our ST's are really costing us.

Pollard had like a 45 yard return and Malik Turner blocks a punt . The ST is not what concerned me. Stopping the run and our O tackles were really bad today .

I think Dak had his issues today, and his receivers drop-happy performance did nothing to help him out of the funk. One thing in particular bothered me - can we please go for the 1st down on 3rd and 5 instead of going for a touchdown? We had a number of 3rd and shorts today and we swung for the fences on a lot of them. Just get the 1st down and move the ball please...

We deserved it. Thats what we get for the helmets and george w at the stadium. Keep politics out of sports!!!!
some here think that is sarcasm but to me with your post history I know its not.

your little darlings played like crap today and you can't face that fact and want to blame anything and anyone else for it

that’s what bothers me. KM calls these shots and Dak never looks for other options. Especially in games like this. You have to go for the down sometimes, not always the jackpot or the big TD. It also messed up our TOP trying for all these big shots.

This was one of those gut punch losses where you have to question everything. We got beat up and blown out (don't let the final score fool you) by a team with far less talent on the field. This was Dak's worst game as a pro. His 4th quarter garbage stats don't make the case it was not.

Not super impressed with MM either. The main role of HC who delegates just about everything is to motivate the troops. He didn't do his job today.

I've been all for this for a while now. Just let the kickoff go into the end zone and take it at the 25, fair catch the punts. The usual block in the back penalties on these push you even further back. At least not let ST lose the game for you. Let the O or D win the game.

I’m not in love with first quarter you’ve lost on one 4th and gamble then on fourth and 2 you pass up a very makable 38 yarder they stop Dallas again and what do you know the Broncos found mojo

Thoughts/observations about today's blowout loss

................ S#!$ HAPPENS!!!...

-All teams, even successful ones lay an egg throughout the season. We also saw the Bills lose to Jax today. In the NFL, any team can win on a given sunday.

-Thought Dak was extremely rusty coming off of a 3 week rest period. His passes were off the entire day. Kind of reminded me of Aaron Rodgers several years ago coming off a bye against the Giants in the playoffs. Point is, very hard to miss significant time and not miss a beat. I think it was important to get some rhythm late in the game, as it could linger and carry over. Dak and the offense will be fine.

-The receivers didn't help out their QB with many drops throughout the game on money downs.

-Zeke missing time hurt the offense, but they weren't going to have much success on the ground as Denver was stacking the box. If they were able to hit a few big passing plays, that could of changed.

-Steele really struggled playing LT, looked very similar to last season, which isn't good. Many will say he struggled badly in camp playing on the left side as well. The loss of Tyron impacted today's game.

-No issue going on 4th down in the 1st qtr, they should of had an easy completion on the second one but Dak's pass was off the mark.

-Thought Osa played well early on, but Parsons was the only one on defense that stood out.

-Surprising the defensive line couldn't generate much of a pass rush against mainly backup lineman.

-Run defense was awful, really struggled tackling throughout the day.

-Diggs had another very poor performance, Patrick had a field day against him and the rest of the secondary.

-Punt block and touching the football is a teaching moment, not to have ever again. It really wouldn't matter as the Cowboys just couldn't get anything going in any area throughout the game.

Tough loss, but at least it was outside the conference, which it hurts less. Right the ship next week and hopefully get some injured players back.

100%.......interestingly I'm not even mad about it. No season is complete w/o bit a of slump and/or adversity. Smart teams use to test their fortitude and toughness. Just me, this is one of those games where burn the tapes and move on to next game.

It struck me as though it never even occurred to DAL that they could lose the game, and that they took the game much less seriously than their underestimated opponent did. After being stymied on consecutive 4th downs, it started to sink in. But, by then, the "challengers" were filled with confidence. It sounds cliche...but the Broncos simply wanted it more, while the Cowboys were sleepwalking.

In a 17 game season which is ridiculously long your down 30-0 midway through quarter 4 Cooper Rush and Corey Clement need to be banging around with Denver not your QB coming off an injury or Elliott with a banged up knee . What meaning did 16 points have in this season ?

Our ST coach is way better in his dreams than he is on any football field. I can't stand him.

I just re/watched the game and there was a lot to uncover, but I'll sum it up as quickly as I can.

1. The Cowboys as a whole came in arrogant and arrogance gets you beat.
2. Dak had his worst game as a Cowboy, or one of his worst, but he got it together at the end.
3. Moore & Quinn were one step behind all game long.
4. Parsons threw a 6'5 315 pound guard to the ground. OMG
5. OSA played outstanding as a DE, the one time I saw it.
6. Quinn substitutes too many players in and out of the game, which leads to a lack of continuity... and stop taking Parsons' out of the game.
7. We need to quit with the drops.
8. And as I said about Romo at times, Dak needs to not go for it all sometimes and get the 1st down.
9. MM should tell Bones to stop going for blocks from now on... I know we're an aggressive team, but this is getting ridiculous.
10.We need to figure out LT, cause Steele isn't it.
11. I think offensive line is AGAIN priority in the draft, along with LB, pass rusher and a TE.
12. We need Tank/Gallup/Gallimore/Tyron Smith back ASAP!

There is so much more I can talk about, but it's pointless. On to the next game.

Good post. Well said. We'll right the ship and we'll be good.

Go Cowboys!!!!

This might have been the most upsets I’ve ever seen in one week. NFL is wild!
