Thoughts on Beasley

He was fantastic last year and has 190 yards in 11 games with a season high of 33 yards. He's literally averaging about 16 yards a game. What's the problem this year?

We let offenses take him away and did nothing to adjust. They learned he was the real go-to weapon for Dak, took him away and now we have nothing.

He’s bracketed.... just like dez.... and we have an 8/9 man box when Zeke is in...

I read those stats earlier today, and they are shocking, even as you realize what is going on.

They are mercilessly squeezing Beasley out of the offense, and it's working. One thing I noticed when rewatching the 2016 games in the offseason (and Tony mentioned this too today) was how destructive Beasley was last year to other teams. If I had one takeaway from watching all those games, it was that there was no way that a defensive coordinator could also watch that and continue to allow Beasley to catch third down after third down. It was ridiculous.

Is he really getting doubled? I don't watch him closely enough. Seems like he lives off the attention Zeek gets. Frustrating year for you fellas but once Zeke is in the lineup his dominance make Dallas a legit playoff contender

Sad to say, I think it's time to put Witten on the bench. Dak is a guy that likes to go to fast, shifty receivers or the tight end more than anything. They've taken Beasley away, but Witten is simply too slow to be a concern anymore. He's usually a yard or more behind the first down marker and goes down at first contact. Games would look a lot different if we had a tight end in there who had more speed and who would bulldoze for the first down.

I think Beasley is probably doing exactly what he did last year. It's just not working this year.

QB has been figured out, they have film on him. No WR is going to be effective until the QB is changed. That's just a fact at this point.

I don't know why they don't expand his role in this offense. He can be used more than just running quick short routes.
He probably has the best hands out of all the WR right now. They should send him on deeper crossing routes. It will be harder to defend him this way .

Beasley is actually the WR defense scheme for. They double team him and let Dez & Williams get taken out with single coverage.

Maybe, but it's hard to see him outside of the role he has here. He has great hands, but he's also a midget with zero physicality, and you can't do too much with him over the middle or he'll be leaving the stadium feet first.

If Dez (who is 6'2'' ) can't catch those over throws, Beasly probably won't either. Also, Beasly is quick but not fast so he is useless down the field. The thing is, Beasly/Witten type reveivers are needed to be a good passing offense but it all goes back to QB play.
If you make plays down the field, that opens up the seams and middle of the field for Beasly/Witten to exploit. That is why our passing game sucks. Dak is one dimensional and the defenses have caught up.

Again, if you blame anything or anyone other than a tired & outdated OC and scheme you're nuts...

Beasley is faster than Armendola and fast as Edelman. They both run more routes than the short in and outs that Beasley runs.

Dak wouldn't suck as bad if he didn't play in JG's Tecmo bowl scheme.

I've seen him run deeper post routes for big gains. They just don't use it often. Typical with this coaching staff. Something works, they stop using it.

Yes but Edelman has about 20lbs on Beasley, that helps.
