Got credited for a couple tackles. Any observations?

He's got a long way to go.

But it's good NOT to hear his name called.

Actually you want a LB/STs player's name to be called.

Love that the kids are coming on.

Hopefully, Carter will be a big player as the season progresses.

BTW, James didn't appear on the stat sheet.

We spent a lot of time in nickel and dime, with Spears/Ware/Lee as the main LBs (or DEs, for Spencer/Ware), and Carter/Brooking switching off (James basically only plays the 3-4 formation, I think). So Carter didn't see the field much, because we were protecting a huge lead most of the day.

Yea, he barely played in the second half. No reason to have him on the field if you're playing the pass.

At this point, he's quietly doing his job. No highlights ... good or bad.

That's not a bad thing.

I assume you meant Spencer.

He has a lot of work ahead of him but at least he is getting a chance to get in and contribute.

You shouldn't be expecting much from Bruce Carter this season. The guy is fresh off a major knee injury, he's playing a little hesitant but that's to be expected when you've been on the sideline for that long.

This is pretty much his pre season right now. Hopefully getting some plays in now will help him over the course of this season. That was pretty much the same deal with Lee last year. Miss training camp and pre season but was inserted in some packages. As he learned he started to gain confidence in what he was doing

I am looking forward to a very bright future from him. If he is as good as advertised them we will be set at inside LB for several years with him and Lee.

He certainly is fast, but out of position and not reading fast enough. All of this is expected, but he is already fast and should only get faster.

Exactly, Sean Lee looked a little hesitant when he came back last year too and he's turned into a stud. Let's give Carter some time to get comfortable playing football again before worrying about his play.
