LOL, what does that show? That Garrett cut the fat overpaid OL before he "retired" the OL coach?

And so? Did you want to do it all in his first season?

So the very first year Houck is 'fired' and Garrett's imprint is being made, Dallas goes out and pays big bucks for Carr and then drafts Mo Claiborne..

Keep coming up with these stories... I find them hilarious

What does it show? Well you tell me, when it's you that says Garrett was the one cleaning house, yet the house was being clean when Houck was here..

BTW, Houck coached here three years, the same contract he signed in Miami and the length of terms that Callahan got here as well. Houch retired because his contract was over.

What does that have to do with Houck, Callahan or the OL?

Like I said, I'm not going to change your mind about Garrett, so think what you want man. Post what you want.

I'm sorry about the next 5 year's BTW. Gonna be bad for you.

LOL... The signing of Carr and Mo, prioritizing CBs has nothing to do with Garrett's process? You can't blame Houck for that one...

OK. They couldn't have not re-upped his contract because Garrett didn't want him as the OL coach, right? I suppose they begged him to come back and he just didn't want to coach anymore. Forget all of the stories that he was pushed out because Jason didn't want him back. That was just the media hating on Houck.

Nice try. You and I were discussing Solari, Houck and Callahan and Garrett's decision to change the OL and coaching. When you can't make any headway there, you start talking defensive backfield.

It works. Just change the subject when you don't know what else to say.

I am going to take my own advise and bow out of this, uh, debate.

LOL.. Keep the story alive. It's not like Garrett was coaching with him in Miami to see his work. So now, the very year you claim Garrett has put his stamp on this organization and convinces Jerry to do the right thing, they end up paying big bucks for Carr and drafting Mo...

There is no changing the subject. You claim Jason convinced Jerry to not re-up Houck's contract, showing he's finally in charge of the organization and prioritized building the line. Yet, they end up paying big money to Carr and leveraging the draft for Claiborne..

Even the year they drafted Frederik, they prioritized defense and had Floyd on the board, and we all know that story. They also fired Rex Ryan and changed defensive schemes, meaning all eyes were focused on defense. And here you are trying to spin Callahan had no responsibility for building the OL.

Not a single OL was drafted in 2012 by the Cowboys. Five of their seven picks were defense. The very year you claimed Jason convinced Jerry to squash Houck and start building the line.

The line was all Callahan.

Cut the BS story.

I am in agreement. Callahan built the Jets O-Line before he came to Dallas. The Jets Oline crashed and burned after he left. Garrett wanted Floyd in the Draft not Travis or the trade down. Imagine if Garrett got his way and drafted Floyd instead of Travis and Williams. We all saw the Draft Day footage. Garrett did not build this OL and would not have a clue how to. Furthermore, before Callahan is thrown under the bus for being the OC in 2013, please confirm if he had the same authority as Linehan in 2014. I saw a lot of Garrett's fingerprints in the 2013 play calling. Callahan is know as a very good OL Coach and is respected around the league.

Jerry came out and said Garrett was effectively the play caller last year and wouldn't let go.

So JG as the OC was able to get rid of the "fat overpaid" players yet JG the OC had no say in getting the OL coach he wanted?

Typical JG fanboy mentality. Everything bad is Jerry's fault and everything good is JG's doing.

What? Garrett cut no OL when he was OC. After Garrett's first year coaching he cut Andre Gurode, Leonard Davis, and Marc Colombo (offseason between 2010 and 2011).

Jerry didn't change his ways until Garrett became head coach. If you see no connection between the 2, then I don't know what to tell you. Do you think it just coincidence that since the 2011 season the Cowboys have been doing things completely different than they ever had before?

From the way they draft and how they go about filling out the roster, to not paying age in free agency and how they work the salary cap, the entire franchise has been re-vamped.

Like I said to someone else in this thread: You can't stand Garrett and if this year hasn't changed your opinion of him, nothing I can say will.

Heck, just looking at your sig you can tell you hate Jason.

Completely different? Who hired Rob Ryan and then fire him? Only to hire Kiffen so that we can have worse defense in the league. Did you look at the 2012 draft lately?

Who do you think drafted those players? Whose idea was it to sign Carr? JG or Jerry?

Don't bother, I already know your answer.

Carr and Mo were on JJ . As I understand it he asked Rob Ryan what he needed and he said CB's

Also just think of this. If successful we would have had Mo and Nmadi A as our CB's....

Agree with your original post that this is now Garretts team, and he's thinking long term success and " changing the story" to return to superiority from " his" Dallas Cowboys....

I think you miss some points and there is some revisionist history in your timeline.

The team can move on from Callahan but its not like Jason had a clear vision for the OL day 1.

The thing about Callahan was he was not a fit offensively.

And I'll borrow a Jerrah-ism and say

..500 coaches could have taken 3#'1s on the OL and succeeded.

An enormous amount was invested in Callahan's OL..

So Callahan will fail with RGIII..

just wait.

Then Snyder will be like Jerrah was 5 years ago.

Losing the core of draft picks because they have not stayed with a plan.
