Thoughts on commentary

Last night, instead of getting into the soap opera aspect (which Buck apparently loves) of the Patriots cheating, of Boot-gate, or any of the off-field nonsense that so often clouds NFL broadcasts, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman simply called the game, and IMO did a marvelous job of it.

I kept waiting for them to delve into the recent accusations, but they held back. Were they remiss in their duties as broadcasters in letting that go? Was it glossed over "because it's the Patriots, the NFL's golden boys"? What did you think of the commentary and analysis?

I agree I thought they did a good job of calling the game and stayed focused on the game nothing else.

No issues with commentary. Didn't really notice them. However, I DID have an issue with Troy's hair. Looks like he had a rat on his forehead.

I love and hate Aikman. I think he is great until he starts talking out of his ***. I don't know how many times I've heard him declare X just happen, when in fact it never did! Like PI calls, or offsides, and several other calls. Last night he did it again (though I cannot remember what it was right now) He said something happen and it was clear as day not true!

My wife saw that and simply yelled "what the hell is that?" So I had to run into the room and check it out. Maybe he was trying to be fashionable?

I had no issues with the commentary last night. I was glad that the score was never more than 4 points out so Joe Buck never found a bandwagon that he could jump on safely. He gets nauseating when the score gets lopsided for one team or the other.

This game was called very good. I didn't notice some of the usual stuff that Aikman and Buck normally say or comment about, so I was surprised.

Also, this is the first SuperBowl that I did not drink any beer at all for the first time in about, oh, 75 years, so that might be why I heard things differently?

In my opinion when they found out what a debacle they made of Tony's personal life by giving Jessica all that free air time, they learned their lesson. There job is the football game not what is going on off the field. I hope they sent Tony a great big APOLOGY for that mess.

I hate both Aikman and Buck as announcers. I wish Phil Simms was doing the game.

I have no problem with the way they announced the games, I just know I never want Aikman playcalling a game for me. Punting it with under 2 minutes left? Calling for the middle screen to Jacobs in the middle of the field with no time outs left?

The shot of Aikman and Buck facing the field (and the Fox logo in the background) is the one gaining all the attention. Both guys are wearing headphones and Troy's looks a little 'stylish' lets just say.

Also, it's obvious Troy has a receding hair line. He's been working different hair styles all year. He had a good one for a long time. Then he works this do'

I agree with that. To Jacobs no less.

I thought it might have been a good idea on second down, because the Patriots were really coming after him. But on third down, that would have been stupid. I thought they had 1 timeout left at the time.
