Or lack thereof!

An thoughts on Roy and Patrick in their coverage yesterday? It was the big plays that beat us too....we did manage to put a few points on the board.

I've looked over most of the game again on DVR. The LJ Smith reception I'm about 90% sure that was Watkins responsibility. Roy had short zone responsibility and Watkins was the centerfielder. If nobody went long on the right side, Watkins was supposed to help out Henry. It appears that Watkins saw the RWR go short and then took steps to help out Henry, not expecting Smith to go deep. Just a blown assignment that sucks that it happend, but correctable.

The flee flicker is getting too much criticism as McNabb made an absolutely perfect throw and Brown made a great catch. The only one that is a bit concerning is the Baskett TD since you would hope Watkins, being a FS could stay with a lower tier WR in Basket for a play and he was fooled badly on the double move.

From my initial review, Roy played okay. Not good, but not bad. Watkins had a rough day.

I agree...I think it's more bad timing for a rookie to learn some lessons, but very correctable. But VERY, VERY bad timing! LOL You could see how upset Watkins was on the sidelines---and I really think he'll be a better player for it.

According to Mosley

Kudos to rookie safety Pat Watkins for taking his medicine in the locker room after he appeared to give up two touchdowns. "I think everything is a learning experience," he said. "I'm not a bad athlete or else I wouldn't be on this team. Everybody gets beat every now and then, this just wasn't my night." By the way, the Eagles players were saying after the game that both safeties were biting a lot on run fakes, which opened things up down the field. …

I just think the flee flicker play gets too much of a bashing. Watch the replay of it, McNabb still had to make a perfect throw and Brown a great catch for it to be a TD. Would've been nice to see Roy make a better play on the ball, but it was far from an embarrassing or bad play/coverage on Watkins' part.
