Thoughts on Michigan safety Daxton Hill

Hill, Brisker and Battle are likely going to be duking it out for the #2 S spot behind Hamilton. I think Hill's measurables will ultimately give him the edge[/QUOTE]

Haven't dived deep into watching Brisker or Battle, but Dallas should look at these more. Battle makes plays and Brisker is solid, also their true Safeties. Trenches are still the way to go, but I wouldn't be mad adding a Day 1 starter at FS/SS.

I think our starting S’s are already on the team. If we draft one how does he ball skills compare to Brandon Joseph’s he has 9 picks the last 2 years?

Agree about Ss already on team. The guy from Northwestern has the better ball skills..he just looked a bit frail to me, but I haven't watch him this season. Battle tho is physical and a playmaker..it's just a preference thing for me..I like rough defenders.

I tend to agree, but Hill's ball skills or lack of them are a bit concerning. Sure, Hill hits all the athletic markers but I am tired of the all SPARQ guys that show holes in their actual game. I have Taco flashback. Hamilton would look so good on a defense with Parsons. But he's going Top 10.

I don’t think Taco was considered a SPARQ guy.

Be careful when it comes to those SPARQs, heck I remember Bryon Jones's SPARQ has all the Cowboys fans feeling warm and fuzzy despite his weak sample size of production coming out of UCONN.

Hill is a very good football player though

I think this front office is very reactionary. When the season over they will determine what they feel is the weakest link on this team. They’ll make no secret about it and we will all pretty much know who the targets will be in the draft. If the Cowboys re- sign the guys in this thread, I think the 3 areas they will look at os OL, WR, and CB. How does the coaching staff feel about Jospeh ? How do they feel about losing Gallup ? How about C Williams ? Makes for an always interesting offseason.

I like him as a CB.
I think Brandon Joseph is the better single high safety and Battle is the in between Ss and FS. But plays better closer to the line.

To me if you grab Hill hr has to be the CB and with him being so fast we won't have to worry about those speedy wrs that kill us deep.

Dallas has not drafted a Safety in the first two rounds since 2002 (Roy Williams). So just going by their draft history, any Safety that we feel has a first round grade would probably have a second round grade in the Dallas War room. Even if Dallas does have a first round grade on a Safety, they would draft virtually any other offensive or defensive position before said player if their grades are similar.

I don't like their thought process, but that certainly seems to be their thought process.

Jones was a good player for us, well at least when Marinelli stopped being dumb in trying to make him a safety.

Not sure Jones is the best example of a SPARQ guy busting on us.
