(Steelers at Browns)

- Blankets in the stands, blankets in the Cleveland secondary.
- Consider the cold a 12th man for the Browns defense.
- Sorry, Mangini, it’s not enough to save your job.
- Josh Cribbs, a man in need of some playmaking teammates.
- Hopefully, the Browns will grow with Brady Quinn and stop jerking him around.
- Derek Anderon’s expected departure from Cleveland might be a blessing in disguise.
- Roethlisberger could have used a Timex and some open receivers.
- Would the group of high school kids who stole the Steelers uniform please return them to Heinz Stadium?
- I think it’s safe to say they’ll be no Super Bowl repeat for the Steelers.

(Saints at Falcons)

- From the glass half-empty, half-full file: Some think the Saints winning at the close of the game singles how vulnerable they are to defeat. I say it’s developing a do-what-it-takes-to-win mentality.
- If Michael Turner and Matt Ryan were healthy, the Saints might be looking at a loss.
- If my aunt had a water hose she’d be my uncle.
- Reggie Bush sure knows how to stretch for a touchdown.
- Jonathan Vilma didn’t leave his big play capability in the Big Apple.
- It’s inexcuseable on a 4th and 2 for a player not to get beyond the first down marker.
- Chris Redman, stick to selling insurance.
- Mike Smith had a right to slam his headphones to the ground.
- If so sick of this ticky-tacky pass interference calls. Let them play, refs.

(Lions at Ravens)

- Ray Rice gets rolling in the rain.
- Derek Mason providing his own slo-mo “The Matrix” movement.
- Should be one of the highlights of the year.
- On your way to the bench, you might want to hand the Lions defenders a bottle of Tylenol pain reliever.

(Packers at Bears)

- Ryan Granted access through the Bears defense all the way to the end zone.
- I think the Vikings have to be a bit scared if they play the Packers in the playoffs.
- Johnny Knox was a find for Chicago.
- Look for him to be Cutler’s BFF despite the presence of his college teammate, Earl Bennett.
- Count down until Lovie’s departure from O’Hare.

(Seahawks at Texans)

- I don’t know if triple teaming Andre Johnson would have done any good, but the Seahawks should have tried it.
- Texans get off to a fast start, cruise to the end.
- Too little, too late for Houston, unfortunately.
- The Jim Mora Jr. era might be coming to an end even before it begins.
- I’m thinking T.J. Houshmandzadeh might be regretting his decision.

(Broncos at Colts)

- The Marshall Plan worked for western Europe, not so much for the Broncos.
- Records were made to be broken, but they feel better with a win.
- Still think the Broncos make the playoffs.
- A multiple interception game means nothing to Peyton Manning.
- Manning might have confidence in Collie and Garcon, but his security blanket is Dallas Clark.
- The Colts will go for the undefeated season.

(Dolphins at Jaguars)

- Is Ricky Williams eligible for Comeback Player of the Year?
- He was spoken about more frequently in his earlier days, but he’s making much more noise on the field presently.
- It seems almost each week some no name on the Dolphins steps up big for the team.
- This week: Greg Camarillo.
- The better Florida team won.
- Poff! goes the Jags chances of making the playoffs with an undefeated Indy coming to town.

(Bills at Chiefs)

- T.O. gets his T.D. and nothing more.
- Jamaal Charles apparently can handle the load.
- Didn’t see much of this game, as you can tell by the lack of comments.

(Bengals at Vikings)

- Thank you for sparing us the silly, choreographed TD celebration, Chad.
- The Vikings were simply too much for the Bengals.
- If Cincinnati plays its playoff games outdoors in the cold weather, they’ll probably go far. But this team apparently can’t win a shoot-out.
- Antoine Winfield is back – in a big way.
- Brian Leonard may have thought he was in a washing machine with that spin-cycle tackle Winfield put on him.
- By his standards, Adrian Peterson has a pedestrian day.
- Two more victories and Minnesota can rest Favre for the stretch run.

(Panthers at Patriots)

- Randy Moss gives up on plays?
- Uh, water is wet and the sky is blue.
- Wes Welker is everything Randy Moss is not.
- I think a number of people don’t want to see the Patriots win another Super Bowl in part because they don’t want to see Randy Moss’s half-a**ness rewarded.
- But isn’t it odd that the Panthers are talking all this smack and they lost the game?
- Gamble, dude, win the game, then talk smack.
- DeAngelo Williams being out really hurt the Panthers’ ability to play ball control, especially with Matt Moore under center.
- Steve Smith has a reason to dance – though not for very long.
- Belichick may have to send some more players home.
- Certainly not, Kevin Faulk.
- Belichick turns to him to get the job done.
- The guy isn’t flashy, but he’s going to leave the game with the type of career a lesser-tier player dreams of.
- I think we’ve seen the last of Adalius Thomas in a Patriots uniform after this season.

(Jets at Buccaneers)

- Right now, all you can expect from Josh Freeman is a few interceptions and maybe a spectacular play mixed in.
- I hope Raheem Morris is renting a home in Tampa.
- If you don’t trust Kelly Clemen, your best bet is to rely on Jay Feeley’s and Thomas Jones’ feet.
- Darrell Revis with another play-making interception.
- Jets faint playoff hopes still alive.

(Rams at Titans)

- Chris Johnson’s runs should come complete with a slo-mo function.
- He’s just so much faster than everyone on the field.
- More stretches, Vincy, more stretches.
- Too bad the Titans couldn’t eek out one win in their six-game losing streak.
- The bright side for Rams is they have their choice of the Nebraska defense tackle or Jimmy Klausen.

(Commanders at Raiders)

- When Bruce Gradkowski went down, there went the Raiders hopes of winning the game.
- Enter JaMarcus Russell, enter defeat.
- Someone was happy to see Russell, but it wasn’t anyone in silver and black.
- Brian Orakpo has a career day with four-sacks, and he’s barely into his career.

(Chargers at Cowboys)

- The Cowboys aren’t that bad, the Chargers are that good.
- The Cowboys December slide will continue because of the schedule, not because of some imaginary jinx.
- Try to pin this loss on Tony Romo, I dare ya.
- The guy has been mistake-free for the month of December so far.
- Here’s hoping DeMarcus Ware has something to play for when he returns.
- Phillip Rivers is ready to take the Chargers farther than they’ve gone before in the playoffs.
- I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chargers, not the Colts, represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
- Did someone ever have the nerve to mention Terance Newman and shutdown corner in the same sentence?
- Heroes has its “Sylar” villain, the Cowboys had theirs in Brandon Siler.
- Riddle me this, Jason Garrett. If Marion Barber gets stopped three times from scoring, what makes you think he’s going to score on the fourth time?
- Poor Tashard Choice. He’d be starting for any other club.

(Eagles at Giants)

- The Eagles are truly Giant killer this year.
- 40 points twice?
- Too bad for the Giants that DeSean Jackson’s hands and feet weren’t injured along with his brain.
- Hakeem Nix, redemption is just a catch and a touchdown away.
- Manning is getting adept at shoveling the ball while he’s in trouble in the pocket.
- I know where the Giants are going to invest their draft choices.
- The Eagles young players – Weaver, Jackson, McCoy and Avant – are coming of age quickly.
- Philadelphia will win the NFC East division.
- No matter what anyone says, Cris Collinsworth is a very good play-by-play announcer.
- The average fan wouldn’t have understood the Mario Manningham play where he steps out of bounds nullifying a catch. But Collinsworth explains how it’s Manningham’s responsibility to set up the defender so he has enough room to catch the ball without stepping out of bounds.

- Based on current level of play …
Top Five: 1.) Colts 2.) Saints 3.) Chargers 4.) Vikings 5.) Bengals
Bottom Five: 28.) Steelers 29.) Bills 30.) Lions 31.) Buccaneers 32.) Rams
