This makes me feel a little better.
If Mincey, Selvie, Crawford, and Melton can total 24 sacks between them (average 6),
and
The rest of the team can total 16 (average 1 per game),
then we can hit 40. This seems doable, and would be an improvement over last year.
Mincey, Selvie, and Melton have done this before in the NFL (get 6 sacks). I like Crawford's chances -- he flashed in the pre-season.
Can you see a scenario where...
Spencer gets 2 sacks
DLaw gets 2 sacks
Carter gets 2 sacks
McClain gets 2 sacks
Scandrick gets 2 sacks
Hayden/Bishop/McClain get 2 sacks (hayden falls on a guy lol)
JCrawford/Edwards get 1
Wilcox or Church get 1
Coleman gets 1
Durant gets 1
There you go... 40 sacks. More pressure than last year. Only 5 sacks from the LBers and 3 sacks from DBs.
Plus, a lot of these guys could get more. These are not hard targets to hit. It's just gonna take a team effort
