This makes me feel a little better.

If Mincey, Selvie, Crawford, and Melton can total 24 sacks between them (average 6),

and

The rest of the team can total 16 (average 1 per game),

then we can hit 40. This seems doable, and would be an improvement over last year.

Mincey, Selvie, and Melton have done this before in the NFL (get 6 sacks). I like Crawford's chances -- he flashed in the pre-season.

Can you see a scenario where...
Spencer gets 2 sacks
DLaw gets 2 sacks
Carter gets 2 sacks
McClain gets 2 sacks
Scandrick gets 2 sacks
Hayden/Bishop/McClain get 2 sacks (hayden falls on a guy lol)
JCrawford/Edwards get 1
Wilcox or Church get 1
Coleman gets 1
Durant gets 1

There you go... 40 sacks. More pressure than last year. Only 5 sacks from the LBers and 3 sacks from DBs.

Plus, a lot of these guys could get more. These are not hard targets to hit. It's just gonna take a team effort

I'd hope for at least 3+ from the DE's but yeah it's going to take a team effort to get those numbers..

If they all turn into Almost Anthonys and get a ton of pressure I don't care if we end the year with 20 sacks. You rush the passer to disrupt the pass, anything else is gravy

Mincey had 8 sacks in a season once.

Because he destroyed the 2-14 Suck for Luck Colts to the tune of 5 total sacks in 2 games. I wouldnt hold my breath.

Sacks? If they can just stop the run I would be ecstatic. I am hopeful but sacks can't be this D's number one priority when they are so woeful against the run. Opposing teams won't have to pass when they can pick up first downs on the ground at will.
