CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
I flip flopped colors for each bullet point as it appeared to run together without it. Hopefully it makes it easier to read rather than harder.

  • Wade Phillips looked like a weeping baby in the first half. It look like he didn't have an answer for anything. Obvisouly, something changed in the second half. The defense improved greatly.
  • The tackling is yet again still poor. There has to be an answer to fixing that.
  • The Cowboys ran the fade twice in a row in the endzone. With all that beef up front, I at least attempt to run it one of those two fade attempts.
  • Speaking of the two fades. Do they not practice that much? Roy complainted that the ball wasn't thrown correctly. (he should have caught it anyhow, it was in his hands) Secondly, Bennett clearly didn't run his route. He just stopped and turned around once in the endzone rather than fading. He didn't even move that direction until the ball was clearly sailing over his head. Again, don't they practice this play?!?!?
  • How many of you guys held your breath when Flo went down? I know I did. Granted he had another false start, but he held Peppers to two tackles and no sacks. 90% of the time you were hearing about Peppers, it was because of the fact he was a non-factor. For that, you can thank Flozell Adams for shutting him down. Hopefully the Flo haters will shut up for at least a week
  • On a thread yesterday, I predicted 3 turnovers and 3 sacks and that is what happen! Woohoo! Not that I actually have any skill to do it. Just a lucky guess, but it felt good to guess correctly.
  • The Cowboys use that fake slant draw play an awful lot. While it works great, at some point teams are going to key on it. They use it IMO a little more than they should.
  • Jon Beason is a beast. He was a man on a mission last night. We need more guys with that kind of fire. I know Newman gets jacked up like that when things are going badly. Not sure who else does.
  • I believe Carpenter is a free agent after this season. While he has *some* coverage skills. I'm doubting anyone (even Parcells) picks him up as a FA next season. The guy can't get off blocks and has tackling issues at times
  • Jay Ratliff is stupid quick for a NT. He like is strong as a freaking ox too! The man can posterize any center in the league 1-on-1
  • I'm not sure what is up with Ware, but he isn't performing on the same level this season. He seems to be waiting and reacting (Parcells style of D) more than last season. His hit on Jake came when they tried to block him with a TE only. Why would any team ever block him with only a TE unless they were running the other way? Other than that, it is consistently taking 5+ seconds for him to get to the QB. Last night, he like Peppers had only 2 tackles.
  • Is it just me, or did you expect more from Bennett thus far? (3 Games, 3 catches, 27 yards)
  • Hamlin still made a few mistakes, but he did a decent job while bracketing Steve Smith. It's when he is roaming that he sucks.
  • I've seen Colombo play badly before, but nothing near as bad has he was in the first half. That was disgraceful. He got beat several times. As far as I could tell, he played far better in the second half.
  • I will finish it with this. At some point this team has to come together as a whole. If they don't do that, they are going to always struggle. They struggled again last night, but they still got the win. In the end, a win is what counts. Ugly or not.

Tackling has been poor - coaching, nothing new here.

That end zone fade issue is ongoing and at the risk of a broken record - coaching...No two ways about it...Execution becomes less of an issue the better the coaching and practice.

Barbie might be the worst 1st round draftee in the history of the organization...Who else would beat him out at this point?...There have been some gems in the draft from Jerry et al but I think the scouting department needs a reorganization for the '10 draft.

Ratliff is my favorite player on the D...He's undersized as we all keep hearing but he's got the right motor that you would like to see on D...Victor is moving up that list of favs too.

Ware is MIA...But, as others have pointed out, I believe there is something going on with him whether it's the stinger or nursing some other limitation.

Bennett reared his immature side after having gone missing for some time...Part of that is certainly on him but if I'm him, I'm pretty frustrated too...He's been open a lot the last two games and has barely been looked at let alone targeted...If you continue to not be involved or even thrown to, you begin to go through the motions, IMHO.

Hamlin did a nice job doubling up on Smith but he sure doesn't seem to have the burst or instincts to get in the right position...If Delhomme wanted to, he could've tried to thread it a few times.

Important win despite penalties rearing it's head again...Two winnable games ahead leading up to the Atlanta game

Tackling has been poor it was poor in the 1st half not the case in the 2nd. Based off what I heard on post game players did catch some hell at halftime and defense looked a lot sharper and were not missing tackles like they did early on. So yes it was coaching responsiblity for the poor tackling in the 1st half it was also the coaching responsiblity to change they way they played in the 2nd half.

Defense needs to stop going for the big hits and basically just wrap a guy up and tackle him.

I didn't like the two fades on the one yard line at all. They had been pounding the ball with success. Run that sob in.

Bennett looked lost at times. Not a very good game by him.

Carp shouldn't even see Valley Ranch again.

And man oh man Mr. Romo. LOL, My heart stopped with that scramble then the ACROSS the field throw to Choice. GOod lord man LOL.

THey won, I am happy and this Tuesday is a hell of a lot better then the last one.
