All the things that were potential problems popped up.

Price is no Crayton, not even close.

Helping on Tucker's side left Petitti alone most of the game and it showed.

Once again Rivera disappoints.

Rookie deep snapper bit us all game long, poor snap contributed to the missed FG and McBriar was chasing snaps all game.

Cortez has to make that FG, Romo did a great job getting that snap down.

Bad Bledsoe was there for all to see. Held the ball, forced throws, poor reads, it was a dreadful showing.

Once again the defense played more than well enough to win. They shut down a great back, pressured Hasselback, caused turnovers at crucial times and it was wasted because we played not to lose. We threw ONE PASS into the endzone all game and it went for a TD, pathetic. We lost this game when we did not have the sack to go for it on 4th and 1 at their 2.

Once again veteran players made boneheaded mistakes that killed drives or kept drives going.

This loss was 50% Parcells/Payton, 35% Bledsoe and the offense...except Barber and Thompson who played well, 15% Cortez and the deep snapper.

Not to pin this loss on Cortez, but it's time we stop skirting around the issue of finding an adequate place kicker. We've stood pat with Cundiff -- begrudingly -- for years, only to now wish he was back. I don't know what kickers are available next summer, but it's time we invest a little and get a solid one. We're just handicapping ourselves otherwise. There's no reason to enter a season with a guy at kicker that you can't even rely on from the 15-yard line.

My take is, if you know your kicker is shaky you sure as hell should be trying to limit his kicks to extra points. From the middle of the 3rd quarter on we stopped attacking. We were hoping to bust a big run, and instead of taking advantage of that 5 plus yard a carry we were getting from Barber and Thompson with play action, we resort to gimmicks. Price nearly fumbles the reverse, the HB throw failed because the only receiver going out was Witten, the flea-flicker was doomed even without the fumble by Barber.

Exactly. ANd what makes it worse is now he's blamed others for two of his mishaps. He hasn't learned that it ain't gonna be perfect every time, and there's no excuse for missing a 29 yard FG when the snap was down on time.

Sad thing is this wasn't the first time he missed from that distance. I remember him missing two from inside the 5 when he was a 9er.
